If it doesn’t have both red and green illumination, it is not worth buying
Ffp the reticle grows and shrinks with magnification. It costs more too.
800- 1000 look at the vortex line that might be your best bet.
Professional instruction is infinitely more important than the optic that sits on the rifle. Just FYI.
Marksmanship is more Indian than arrow, though I know that is less fun and sexy.
Then again, I might know exactly jack and shit about any of this, so carry on.
They have their pros and cons depending on what your doing. But for taking something out to 1k yards I would say FFP. The advice given about learning more about shooting and scopes is very good and important. However, since you've given a budget, I'll throw out something I researched heavily and nearly bought but didn't because I wanted a lighter weight but from everything I've read it offers great glass and quality at a good price and a great warranty. If someone on here knows differently please say so. This is a japanese manufactured scope, the differences between these two will be field of view, top and low end magnification and weight/objective size. You'll have to decide what mag range you want but keep in mind that 10,12,15x magnification will get you out to 1k yards, just depends on how much detail you want to see or how good or bad your eyes are. I was personally looking at the 3-18x50 but went a different direction. Again, there are a lot of good options, this is just one in your price range that I personally did a lot of research on. Also see if you like the reticle, because that's very subjective and your the one whose going to be looking down it every time you shoot. Good luck.

I joined this forum originally to ask a scope question. What about that do you find to be offensive?
Does it make you feel superior to mock a newbie? You need to look into yourself if the answer is yes.

OP, there are some true experts on this forum. I'm not one of them. I do have the exact same rifle and my choice was the Athlon Cronus BTR GEN2 4.5-29x56. It has nice clear glass, comes in two different Mil reticles and is only a few hundreds over your budget. For a rifle as capable as the Ruger Precision, I would hold out for the better scope. I don't think you'll regret it.
