Anyone using one??

BulzEyePro is what I have been looking into, team Savage used them when they won the F/TR National Championship.

I guess I'd just like to know what the scoop is with these, and/or other optical boosters, and if they are worth buying. I wouldn't mind upping my 32x for Fclass.

Re: Optical Booster

Correction... *one* guy on Team Savage was using a Bulzeye lens.

I've tried using one (4x) several years ago when they first came out and generally speaking you'll need to readjust the rear focus on your scope a bit. In my case I'm already nearly maxed out turning the eyepiece 'in' to get a sharp image, and the Bulzeye required a bit more than I had adjustment left to use - hence I had a slightly magnified, but fuzzy image.

It also shortened up the eye relief considerably. Given that the early models were for scopes with screw-in lens covers and had a metal rim with a square corner on it... I got bit once by the scope, scolded myself for being so close to the gun, back off as far as I could and still have a clear sight picture, and pulled the trigger again... and that time it drew blood

I cleaned it off and sent it back with a note explaining the above. They were more than happy to refund my money.

I think with the newer slip-on models some of this might be mitigated a bit - at the very least it should be harder for them to draw blood

I've heard that the 4x model tends to exacerbate some of the issues mentioned above (shorter eye relief, etc.)

Re: Optical Booster

I dont wear glasses but went to my wifes optometrist and asked for some shooting glasses. He is a skeet shooter and helped me out.he gave a prescription that boosted my vision for shooting .I only wear them when I shoot but they help alot it is like a step up when I put them on almost like the booster you asked about.
