Rifle Scopes Optics/reflex sights for my AR15

I see some 3-gun configurations with a 1-4x on top with an offset reflex sight like a c-more or a deltapoint. I am not necessarily looking to compete, but I am looking for something fast and functional.

I know folks like their eotech holo/magnifier set up, but I would think the quick detach mounts wouldn't be as quick as a 1-4x w/offset holo sight.

Here's my OBR 5.56 with Vortex PST 4-16x FFP and an offset Primary Arms Micro Dot in a LaRue offset mount. Usually, the offset mount is mounted on the top rail but the PST's chunky knobs blocked the view. I mounted it on the right rail.
I figure I'm good to go from 5 meters to max distance of 5.56 round (for me, at my local range, it'll be 300 yards).

What would be the best optic combo if say, a legion of angry zombie boar ambush me while I'm on a walk or if say I am actually competing in a 3-gun event?

Nice rig. I have a 20in LWRC repr that has a USO 1.8x-10x-37 optic (it's a big bulky scope) and a Burris Fastfire II (mounted in a predator tactical offset rail) sight mounted behind the first pair of scope rings between them and the back up BUIS. Set up works well and between the two I can pretty much own from CQB distance to 1000 yards if I do my part.

Only thing to consider is that your red dot scope has no protection like you could get if you had a delatpoint, RMR, or fastfire red dot. The predator tactical offset mount has steel "wings" that protect the sight in case you bash your rifle against something...in my case....going through a door or window while on duty.

Overall good setup and should suit your needs well unless you bang your weapon around....then you will possibly break that red dot or at least maybe loose zero on it.

I hear you brother, it does kind of hang out there a bit. With that said, I don't earn my living with my rifle and as much as I'd like to believe it, my life isn't an action adventure movie waiting to happen. The mount is a LaRue QD, strong as all that, so I'm not really worried about losing zero...it's the Primary Arms Micro (T-1 clone), so that's the real weak link there but surprisingly well built. Should I ever really do break the PA Micro, I'll kick up the cash and get a real T-1...those, as they say, are pretty stout.

Just took a look at that Predator offset mount...DAMN!!! That looks fantastic and a great idea. If I relied on my rig for work/life, I'd no doubt run that.

Be good,
TomK

Nice rig you have setup for your purposes....you shouldnt have to spend any more cash swapping mounts or sights at this point (unless you just drop your rifle smack on the red dot then you may be screwed). Here's a pic of my "action and adventure movie" rig.....Im just waiting for the chance to get some meth head in the crosshairs.....damn, Im sick!

Damn, brother, that is nice!!! I love that offset mount, no joke with that "rollcage" around it.

Poor meth heads...they better lay low with that stick on the loose!!!

Stay safe,
