Did a pretty hefty search and hadn't seen any mention of the Orthos Raider S4 yet.
I've always wanted the OG Benelli M4 but seeing as how I always end up doing a shit load of mods and customizations anyway, I decided to pull the trigger on the Orthos knowing full well it's not gonna stay bone stock for long.
If anyone has one, or would like to post their own M4 (or clone) builds. I'd love to see them.

This is going to end up similar to their "Shipwreck" limited edition release...but different.
Already added the MI extended m-lok hand guard and have an SBS barrel and mag tube sitting here waiting for a Form 1 to clear.

Well I'm kinda in the same boat. I bought a AKSA off here yesterday. From my reading the Orthos is basically the same Turkish copy with all the bells and whistles. I don't know what the orthos base model comes from, but I've read the panzer is the only clone that can really be hit or miss.

I'd say yours should be good. I've ordered a Taran Tactical bolt knob, bolt release and all the springs to reduce trigger pull weight. Then got the Shell Tactical titanium 7 round tube, wolf spring and titanium follower. Topped it off with the Esstac 7 round shell card, I'll velcro to the receiver.

Gun should be here next week maybe and parts will get here before that. Then dump a bunch of slugs and buck through it to break it in and seat the gas rings.

Hopefully your gun is awesome. I hope mine is.

I bought a Panzer version, marine finish (nickel coating) stopped at Brownells showroom and checked out the real Benelli M4 in the marine finish and was shocked... Finishing marks, casting flaws. I dont know how they can ask the price they do. That being seen I was super happy I grabbed the clone. I was expecting crude machining inside but I stripped it all down when i got it to get the oil out of the gas cylinders and inspect and its amazing nice. I've had it for over a year now and its been flawless with any ammo. I see now Panzer has a new version out with a metal handguard.
Lots of people bash the clones but take them right out of the box and dont clean them. The Benelli manual states like a hundred times not to put any lubricant in the cylinders or on the pistons... The clones all come soaked in it for shipping and storage. I have not had a single problem, not a one, cheapest shells, slow, fast, tried a bunch.
When I got mine i was watching tons of videos, lots having failures on weaker loads.... made sense to me if oil is in there the spent gas+oil = slower moving bolt. So I did my own video addressing it... Amatuer video.
Heres mine... and the video below if anyone extremely bored.

Most of the factory parts I replaced on my M4 broke including a GG&G charging handle, S&J jumbo safety, and Mesa cheek riser for their Urbino stock.

While I have an aftermarket charging handle on it now (forget which brand) but I have "downgraded" the other stuff back to stock factory. I think the Italians and the Marines know how to make a reliable shotgun, even if it has a few quirks.

My other accessories include a velcro on side saddle, an el-cheapo butt stock shell carrier held on with electrical tape, and a $10 flashlight clamp that has lasted for thousands of rounds. Probably doesn't really count as a "build", just a shotgun with some stuff strapped/taped to it.

Maybe it was the G96 lubricant I was using at the time but it didn't seem to quite have it's usual oompf at -33°F.

took mine out the other day, ran 5 quick high brass through it to see how it patterned at 30 yds. Seemed reasonable enough for a 6 shot rooster load.
New years eve, I took it out again and dumped 4 shots fast...alternating between 8 shot low brass dove loads, and 6 shot high brass rooster loads. ran smooth as butter. pretty impressed so far actually.
I've had a couple people notice, it's lighter than I actually expected it to be.

Looks like a decent option for sure...I don't quite see why someone cant design one that can/will collapse as compact as the original
(Still cant upload pics...can only link to pics already online)

You aren't missing much with the knockoff collapsible stock IMO. The real one has to be twisted carefully to 45° to open and then stopped at exactly the right spot if you don't want the ridiculous 13" LOP so it can be slow to deploy. If you aren't using an optic the full length may be your only option to get a good cheek weld and sight picture.

Very cool shotgun, I do Iike mine, but an AR type buffer tube/stock would have been a better choice. Okay that's the end of my rant.

That's a nice setup you have going.

Well...let me be the first to say...this thing shoots amazing.
Haven't done anything to break it in, but I alternated low brass 8 shot with high brass 4 shot and it ran like a champ.

BE ADVISED...if you want to shoot and enjoy shooting...the ported barrel SUCKS ASS if you're not gonna wear ear pro. JFC!!!

Im actually gonna return my SBS barrel for a non-ported one.

I've been pretty impressed with my MAC m1014. The trigger group feels cheaper but hasn't had an issue yet in the last 500 rounds. Including several sessions in the single digits.
