Anyone in (or out of) GA ever use Ortiz Custom Guns, in Savannah? They're my go-to guys for transfers and browsing but I've never actually used them for gunsmithing.

@THEIS Yeah, looking at the google ratings... Like I said, I've never dealt with the gunsmithing half, just the purchasing/transfer half (which isn't handled by the owner) of the business and I've never had any difficulties in the time I've been using them, nor have I ever seen any prices that were particularly excessive (but I usually gravitate towards their vintage sections, not the new stuff so I might be biased that way). But damn, I don't who wrote those replies on the comments but that's enough for me to not want to deal with it too. The staff I've interacted with have, aside from one guy, been plenty polite and all and that one guy could've just been having a bad day. But unless I can get some better feedback, yeah, I think I'm gonna avoid them for custom work.

Add from his site>> http://store.ortizcustomguns.com/op...rm06-rmr-sight-adjustable-led-325-moa-red-dot Of course he says web merchendise is not priced the same as in store. I'll bet anything that RMR is not availible. He is a block from HAAF. There are always BS gun stores, pawn shops and Korean titty bars surrounding military base gates. Wonder why??
Well it's quite a ways from the gates, in fairness, and it's a Korean restaurant down the street, not a titty bar. There's a pawn shop across the road from HAAF's gates, though. But I'm talking about gunsmithing, not whether or not he's got stuff available in the store or not. 'Cause, I mean, I could just call 'em if I wanted that RMR or what-have-you and ask if they have one. I've never done any kind of transaction with them online, just in person. The storefront is a separate half of the business from the gunsmithing business and I've only dealt with former. Meaning I personally have never dealt with Mr. Ortiz or the gunsmithing staff, just his sales staff and the older gentleman who handles that side and the old guns. I take your point but I'm not totally convinced that the two sides aren't mutually exclusive.

Not judging him. They may have the finest smiths in the country. I just wouldn't bet on it based on the product lines advertised on his site.
