Been messing around with these on and off for a bit and had a request for a few so am I finally nailing down a design. Still needs a couple of small revisions but they will be ready soon. Inside is soft but really tough fleece and a thin but effective layer of padding. These will be made custom for your scope size so they won’t be massive one size fits all upside down bags like some that you see. I can do them more fitted or with flaps that extend down to keep dust and dirt out if the action when needed. Let me know if you are interested or if there is something you would like to see included in the design. Protect that $2k scope!

What price range are we looking at?
I’m not exactly sure yet. The material cost on these is lower than the other stuff on the site but there is a lot more labor involved in making them. Once I get the final design down I can get an average of how long it takes to put one together and will be able to nail down a price. There is a lot of cutting and sewing involved. There are 15 different panels to cut and sew and 12- 3 dimensional corners to sew, 4 for each layer. A lot of these you see out there are just 2 sides sewn into pouches that perch on top of the rifle. That is really quick and easy but they look like.....upside down pouches! And as with everything else, if it isn’t different and doesn’t look cool I dont want to do it lol.

I want to get them down as low as possible and have that in mind as I finish the design. The easier I can make them to put together the cheaper I can sell them! I hope to have them finished up in the next couple of days and will update here and the site.

I don't know how I feel about the under the trigger guard strap. I feel like inevitable some DA will put the strap inside of the trigger guard and shoot me while messing with his scope cover. It is a nice looking cover though.

I figure these would mainly be used for transport or storage but that is a good point. What does everyone else think? Bad to strap under the trigger guard?

A carry handle on the top?
Yea I had considered a handle but would need to add some more strapping and reinforcement to it if so. I def don’t want it a huge and bulky as the Triad one and I’m not sure how slim I could keep it with a handle. I’m thinking maybe make a slim one and a bigger one that extends down over the action/chassis. If the cordura extended down it would be easier to add a handle without adding a lot of strapping or reinforcement.

Sorry, didn't mean to make you rethink your design. I just tend to approach things from a "what would the dumbasses I see at my local range do to screw this up" angle.

No I appreciate the input. I angled the back strap and routed it behind the grip. Just as easy and semi-idiot proof!

I think a carry handle would be good too. Could you use webbing for the straps on the buckles and run them up over the top and all the way around and stitch the handle to them?

I have a feeling, adding a handle is going to add cost. I for one wouldn't use the handle, I don't feel they are 100% safe especially when DA's are on the loose. Adding a handle and adding extra cost, FOR ME, wouldn't be worth it.

    My two cents:

Perfect for in the safe. I use Pelican cases but if I had them all standing up in a safe I would want a bootie around the scope like that for sure. Maybe even have it wrapped around the entire gun for that length protect the fancy bolt and trigger area too.

If it was custom fit for my scope I bet it wouldn't need those straps just some padding and undersized by a smidge...

I like seeing your stuff keep inventing!

I agree, I haven’t put my hands on my can cover yet, but I have a feeling you’ll be getting some more of my money for sure. I’m liking your ideas and that you’re willing to accept feedback from fellow shooters

Design is down guys but I need to streamline the assembly. They are just too difficult to make right now, too many steps will equal too expensive. I’ve got some new material for the liner ordered that will hopefully cut out a layer that I have to assemble now and make them quicker and easier to put together. I'm hoping to get the price around $85. That sounds like a lot when you compare it to others but as I said before, these are 3D covers with 5 sides, not a two sided upside down pouch. I could make some 2 sided pouches for $30-$40 because its just two pieces of material sewn together on three sides. That doesn't look good at all IMO and I am betting a guy with a $1000-$5000 scope wants something that is custom fit and looks custom! New material will be here next week and I'll see how much easier it makes the assembly.

as far as the strap near the trigger, what if you just used a bigger buckle and strap that couldn't fit through a trigger guard.... and what if you integrated the handle as part of the two straps and buckles that hold it on?

I thought about a larger buckle but there are so many sizes of trigger guards I would have to use a huge one. The strap works just as well behind the grip so good enough. I’m prob not going to do a handle. The weight and balance of the rifle is just not right to carry woth two straps and a soft cover. The triad has a whole extra strap and barrel sleeve which likely works great for carrying the rifle but seems unnecessary and cumbersome to me. If you are humping your rifle you likely have a sling, if you need to grab it and move it 10 feet it is very likely easier to just grab the rifle.
