German,
I don’t paint some items that might get re sold. This tripod is darn unlikely to hit the market. I use it almost daily and really like it.
Painting was not a difficult decision.

I’ve painted a lot of stuff but I’ve never looked at a RRS and said.. “it could use some paint” lol looks good though. You feel any difference in the legs?

I just used fabric tape for the main legs on my Tripod. I’m glad that it turned out good and works. Nothing like painting a rifle/piece of equipment then having to strip it all off. Done that once or twice

I actually had just the outside legs and Anvil Cerakoted (if that’s a word) just like the OP mine is used mostly in hunting applications. Never once was I worried about resale as I never plan to sell.

Very nice. Who did the work? That is what I wanted to do but did not search long enough for a source.

Yo that looks sexy AF! Whoever did that camo job knows what they are doing.

I might have to send in my covert after seeing yours. How much weight did the flutes save you? Is it a big difference in weight. I love my covert but dam it’s heavy! Lol

I sent the original 26” barrel to Mark at SAC and he cut it down to 16” then fluted it. All in all it took off a little over 2 lbs, 1/2lbs in just the fluting.
Don’t get me wrong it’s still a heavy bitch. But I have a 35oz ZCO sitting on it! I’ll have to weigh it again but I believe it is just over 13 lbs with scope, rail and empty mag.

I am the owner of Primal Finish.

Custom Cerakote on a RRS tripod with one ball head is $225 plus shipping. That includes camo on the legs, two tone on the top of the tripod, and one or two tone on ball head depending on the ballhead. BH40’s, BH55’s and such get air cure only and are one tone. Anvil 30’s and most leveling bases can easily be disassembled and can be two tone bake on c

I don’t cerakote inside legs as I don’t want to impede the function of the tripod. If you need the bottom legs of the tripod extended, then they are usually concealed by the high grass or whatever you are shooting over.

I digitally make and cut my own stencils so I can paint pretty much any camo you would like for the legs. Pictured camo patterns are TS Mirage designed by TS customs and painted to match Travis’s rifles.

Give me a call and we can discuss it further. 901-451-1249

I have seen most of the popular ball heads and my favorite is still the BH40 for anything less than 338LM. Second would be the anvil 30. The only reason I don’t say hands down anvil 30 is because of the position of the release lever.

Mine is Anvil 30. Could not be more happy with it.

If you want to do a full blown camo pattern look up a place called weapon stencils. I have picked up a bunch of vinyl stencils from them for doing cerakote camo on rifles. Their prices are very reasonable and their their stincles will work just as well with Krylon. I actually have a bunch of extra Multicam style stincles I can send you if those are what you would need.
