We duck hunt SD they talk about western SD being a hot spot. It's not ND but it's right there. Hook up with the folks that live on the big complexes they have tons of ground and always let us shoot what we want.

I assume you are talking western ND? If you get a hold of the Dickinson CVB, they can probably steer you in the right direction. I have a co-worker that says he got a map of the prairie dog town locations - I think from the Forest Service office in Dickinson.

Dickey county is in Southeast ND about 40 miles straight south of me. No PD's in Dickey county that I know of. You need to be about 200 miles west of there, between Dickinson and the Montana border.

Rob is right, there are no prairie dogs in Dickey county. I grew up in that area - there are ground squirrels (which look like small p-dogs) that we call gophers. Used to be real thick when I was a kid in the 70's. Low cattle prices led to most farmers selling off their stock and plowing under the gophers along with their pastures. If you can find a good pasture, you may be in for some shooting. I'd definitely bring .22lrs, maybe a .223 - anything much bigger will be overkill. If you are in the western part of the county there are more pasture lands, so you may find more gophers (assuming the landowners will let you shoot).
