Penn State/ Paterno

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

Pretty damning findings from the investigation. They were aware of Sandusky preying on young boys for 14 years, and demonstrated no concern for the victims. Pretty sad!

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

Yep, pretty tough to explain away turning a blind eye to pedophillia when Louis Freeh (former Director of the FBI) starts to dig around and find out some things.

My guess is that the investigators haven't heard the whole story, and it's probably even worse than what we've already heard. Sickening.

Can't wait for the JoePa apologists to start backpedaling.

I also can't wait for a lawsuit to crush that entire school. Penn State deserves it.

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

THEY ARE SCREWED.... That entire University is about to pay a VERY big price for what occurred. This WILL be NO doubt the largest lawsuit payed by any edcuational institution when resolved.

Xshot,

Very true.... A $90 million dollar plus a year athletic program does make a good backup excuse though

And Pennsylvania's taxpayers will be the ones paying.

On another note, theyre done. All sports. For a long time.

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

If the Paterno apologists and supporters didn't think he was calling the shots on turning his friend Sandusky in they are crazy.

There is also a long history of Paterno NOT cooperating with the State College Police at any level when it would be easy for him to do the right things. He covered up for his football players ALOT.
That comes from former players and LE in State College

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

Capt. Obvious,

Your right... Its ashame that the tax payers are going to be hit.

I am VERY well versed in TITLE IX as my Phd Dissertation is on it and the compliances/noncompliances of the dear collegue letter.

It will be interesting to see if all unfold.

A little bit of info though.... in all the history of schools violating TITLE IX... there has NOT been ONE single school ever loose its federal funding.

I wonder IF Penn State will be the first?

PennState is not going to tear down Joe Paterno's Statue outside of Beaver Stadium. They're just going to turn it around, So it's "looking the other way".

Welcome to Ped State.....

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

I wonder if there is a way we can bring Paterno back to life so he can be beaten to death by the parents of the abused kids.

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

For what they didn't do is awful. But what really gets me is all the other people who knew and did nothing and arent getting shit. Even the janitor saw a kid get rapped said nothing . In fear of his job he kept his mouth shut. He works for the school sees a rap doesn't say anything and it's okay?? He needs fired! They where investigating Sanduski for 7 years... How long do yo let kids get rapped before you step in??? There are a lot of people getting away besides the 4 named...

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

Breaking news:NCAA hits Penn State football with $60 million fine, vacates Paterno's wins from 1998-2011.

Re: Penn State/ Paterno

Good start on the penalties. I especially like the fine and taking away Paterno's wins. Can't believe some folks think its to harsh. CLEARLY all these fools are brain washed around here.
.
Also nice that they put it in there that kids currently in the program can leave if they want.
.
Oh an if I didnt mention GO BLUE!

No bowl for four years and loss of twenty scholarships per year during same time, along with the penalties above is almost the death penalty. Coach Paterno was one of the most, IMHO, highly respected college coaches of all time. That this happened on his watch is such a shame. Did he truly know it was happening and just couldn't believe it or did he knowingly cover up to preserve his image? One day, I am sure we may know the truth. How could it take so long to come to light with that many victims? What is going on in other programs across the country? Hell, what is going on with our world? It is a sad and sorry place.
