I have an AAC M4-1000 mounted on my ar. What I am considering is having the barrel shortened to 10.5” and welding the flash hider to the barrel and the suppressor to the hider. Just wondering if anyone has done this with the same, or similar set up and had problems. I hardly ever take the suppressor off the rifle and I’m tired of the length and weight on the end of the gun.

I'm just trying to save some paperwork wait time, and I already have the suppressor.

Sorry if this is a repost, I tried a search and it just takes me to the forum page.

I'm done making changes to this rifle if I want something different I will build another one. Also the M4-1000 is notorious for unthreading while being shot. Mine only backs off a click so it’s never been that big a problem but I have to check it every time. I am not in the mood for another $200 and a however many month wait, just got done with one in April.

I’ve shot some integrated rifles and like them. I feel this would be the same thing.

I’m still weighing the options.

Thanks for the advice fellas.

to answer your question-yes, you can do it as long as the total barrel length is 16 inches. Measured from the face of the bolt to the tip of the suppressor.

Just about any can with a QD has the potential to unthread. Mine do also although it is usually one click. I kept my 16 inch barrel and submitted the SBR paperwork and now have a 10.5 inch 5.56, and a 12.5 inch 6.8 plus the 16 inch. My paperwork took 6 months to the day.
