Never a dull moment around Pat, either working you hard or laughing your butt off at his stories.

He needs to write an autobiography, "Pat's True Life Adventures" don't know if it would sell as a comedy or a horror story!

Sure looks like it, except for the color.

Don't Hate, Appreciate...

It takes a special kinda man to rock the BCGs, and I make them look good.

That is pretty hilarious....it hasn't changed in 30 years.

XGEP rocking Pat's BCM "Filthy 14" Mid-Length. This gun was used in the 2009 Pueblo West class as well. The gun currently has over 36,000 rounds on it. Consider that's over 36,000 rounds being run in classes (every 3 days this gun has 1,300 to 1,500 of hard use rounds down range in a training enviornment). Kind of cool to see the same gun being used in a class a year later:

Note the www.boresightsolutions.com stiple work on the Magpul AFG (angled fore grip). I just finished up a 3 day Magpul Dynamics Pistol 1 & 2 with a Glock that was refinished by Ben at Boresight Solutions. I was really impressed with the work, made a huge difference:

Re: Pics from a recent Pat Rogers 3 day Carbine Course

Great set of pics!

1. Do you know what the approx weight is of Carol's pencil barrel setup? Of course the pencil bbl lightens things up, but the Larue is not the lightest forearm (medium I would say) so I wonder what it came in at w/o optic.

2. Were the chest rigs used the rigs that the students would use over their exterior body armor for a serious event? Or do they plan to practice later with full kit?

4. I like the pig FH setup on that Daniel Defense rifle, and have been thinking of putting a pig on a 13.7" barrel. Was that rifle with pig installed muzzle heavy or did it handle well?

5. Reminders to self:

a.) smile for the camera

b.) work on reducing belly size so that I rate high on the stud muffin index.

And right after the shot. The dirt in this area is the consistancy of talcum powder:

What type of holster and belt setup is that? Any clue?

Re: Pics from a recent Pat Rogers 3 day Carbine Course

I haven't been to a course like this in several years. Its amazing how much how much the toys have changed. Good to see all the hard work is paying off after the Clinton ban sunset.

Re: Pics from a recent Pat Rogers 3 day Carbine Course

The Mod navy qual is a tough drill. Was everyone making the 20 sec with all rounds in?

Freddie Blish came out to my unit and we did a 2 day course with him. It was tough for a lot of the guys to get accustomed to shooting on a non static range. I just wish we would have had another day or two, so much to absorb in such little time.

I really look forward to taking a Pat Rogers course in the future. Freddie had nothing but great things to say about him.

Looks like it was a great time.

Cheers

Re: Pics from a recent Pat Rogers 3 day Carbine Course

Take this for how it is meant as just a helping hand, but it would make things a lot easier for you if you would move you rifle up into your pocket instead of having so low. The gun should come up to your eye not your eye having to move way down to the gun by flopping your neck over.
IMG_2853001_copy.jpg

These two guys are doing it well. See how the bottom of the stock is in the pocket just below their collar bone. Their heads are still straight up. You can be a lot faster doing it that way because your are not trying to move the gun up to your eye and your eye down to the gun. It is just one movement, bring the sights to your eye.

It is no wonders this guy cut his face by the way he is laying ontop of the gun. That is one of the weirdest prone shooting positions I have ever seen.

Re: Pics from a recent Pat Rogers 3 day Carbine Course

Question:

How did the pencil barrel pictured below stack up performance wise against the others?

Any negatives to having an ultra small diameter barrel?

Thank you.
