This is walking distance from the front door of my house. You can actual see my house amongst the others in the background. About a 5 minute drive to the nearest shooting spot. Sigh….

Wow I am so jealous of your mountain backstops. Awesome! I have 7,000 acres of game lands behind us. Building up the berm for the 1,000 yd soon. Dog hunters run the creek behind us, but I was sure to fire the .338's and 50's a lot during early Saturday mornings during hunting season. I'm a hunter but can't stand damn dogs chasing deer. Anyways here's a pic of our young, 17 month range, 98.3 acres.

Steel is every 100yds for the aerial pic. It will be 300-1,000 only when done. It will be wider than this also..

Now while the fire danger is up I shoot at the local gun club.
Range goes to 750 and has steel at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 750.

I also shoot at home and have room to shoot a mile+.
I'm in the process of rigging up a nice portable steel target for home use.
All my steel targets at home now are reg steel for pistol use.

Wow... looks amazing!!! Nothing like that around here ah! Soooo yer telling us that the distance between the yellow dot and the red dot is "only" 34 yards? :p

Haha. Yes, the Vectronix is pretty accurate and the delta was +or- <34Y. I think images can be deceiving especially when your equating distance to 2 dimensional separation. Your probably cueing in on the difference in elevation, giving the appearance of the targets being much further apart.

It's a great place to shoot but 4x4 a must.

only have access to 600 yards range in my shooting club - 1 hour driving from my house, 300 yards off Lake Michigan shore. one day I will stretch to 1000 - but thats 3 hours drive

from 300 yards - waiting for fog to pass

We can shoot as close as 200 and get out to at least 1600 yds. Should be able to get further but never really looked for a clear lane. Usually shoot between 500-900 out there. Target is stationary, and the shooter moves back as desired.

After the hay is cut I can get 1080 yards, otherwise it's about 930 yards max when the field is thick. If you zoom in you can see my old plow disc on the distant hillside. Not bad for northern Minnesota, I'm jealous of you guys out west though! image.jpg

Lake Range.jpg

See if mine attaches properly..! Range is out in one of the pastures, private land. Targets out to 1300. Lake bends around off to the left for another half-mile or so.. makes for tricky & tough-to-call wind on the 800-1300 targets, often dead-calm at the guns but blowin' to beat hell 3/4 the way down outta that bay! Good practice, lott'a fun.

2100 yards from target area to shooting position, getting range with Tarapin. (firing position just to the right of the little knob at the upper right portion of pic)

My wife's 2100 yard impact with 375 Cheytac at 2100 yards, took me a few rounds to get it dialed in, but she whacked that shit on the first round! :)

Elk target at 1700 yards

Impact just above and to the right of the kill zone.

We sometimes share our long range with.... cows. The gate on the right is 410 yds from the target berm. Therefore the cows are approximately 450 yds from the target berm. We are on the 1000 yd platform. You gotta have faith in your DOPE to take this shot. Worst case, you bought a bunch of hamburger.
