Hi All,

Newb here looking for info on flush cups for a build on a Manners stock. Questions I have are: different placement options on stock(lateral and bottom of stock), usage, how many, type (rotating vs non-rotating) and brands?(if this can be a factor).

Is there a common or most popular configuration? I intend to use both bipod and a shooting sling (vs a carry only style sling). I'm right handed so I'm assuming one could have a basic stud on the forend for bipod use and cups for shooting sling/carry usage?

If you could point me to an article or post covering this that would be appreciated. I've tried a basic search but need your collective thoughts and expertise

thanks!

John

Placement depends on how you like to use the sling. That can determine if you should go side-only or bottom only. Personally, I'd choose bottoms AND sides.

If you're right handed, you'll want the side flush cups on the left side of the rifle.

The non rotating stop the male QD end of your sling from rotating in the cup - a nice little luxury which prevents your sling from getting twisted up. They only allow the male QD to lock into the cup in 4 clockings - every 90°…

Definitely go with the non rotating cups. They will make a world of difference with not having your sling twist and turn into knots. I had the cups switchouton my stocks last year and am very glad i did. I am a right handed shooter and run the cups on the left side and bottom of my rifles both front and back. I am wishing I had one on the right side up front for some positional shooting. All 3 of my Manners stocks have the old style skid pad that actually cover the front cup on the bottom of the stock but if I know I am going to be shooting off of my tripod a lot (PRS tripod) I will pull the skid pad off and hook the sling to the bottom front cup. I am currently using TAB slings. Just my opinions and experience. Hope this helps.
