Just a couple of pictures, haven't shot the combo, just no time lately. So far the first impressions of all 3 pieces of the puzzle are impressive. The rifle is a thing of beauty, 308 firepower in such a compact (and what should be an accurate) package. The SS 3-9 appears to be a very good value, especially at the SH.com discount, mil/mil, decent clicks, clear glass, etc. Brady at SWFA convinced me to try the Bobro mount and I have to agree that it's pretty damn nice, the lever mechanism works very well and the machining is perfect. It's as nice looking as any LaRue I've owned or better, but I prefer the rings split in this direction and the auto adjust lever mech. A big thanks to Scott and Steve at POF and Brady at SWFA for answering questions and being here for all the SH.com guys, thanks again guys.

Enough boring commentary, lets get to some pictures. I had my settings a little screwed so I hid some flaws with the B&W effects tool

Nice rifle. I love my SS 3-9. I bought it for my LMT .308 and its worked wonders on my 5.56 for the time being.

Im in CA so I get to pick up my lower from the FFL on friday!

Be sure to post groups when you get a chance to take it out

I got 2 SS 3x9 and love them. That is a sweet Setup JasonK. I would like to know what it tips the scale at loaded if you get time.

Looks great, Jason!!

I'll be anxiously awaiting a range report. I am particularly interested in your experiences/observations on the Bobro mount. I have used their Aimpoint mounts which I considered to be top notch, but I have never handled (much less used) one of their rifle scope mounts.

Congrats again on the new setup!!

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

That Sir, is a great looking rig. I almost went the same direction because of the feel and balance of the POF. In the end the barrel change feature on the LMT MWS won me over. Hope I don't regret the choice. IMO your made the right choice on your scope. I keep seeing where people are over scoping the 7.62 carbines. They put higher power variables on them which require parallax adjustments. This slows the shooter down in a SPR/DM or hunting application. I currently have a SS 3-9x on a M1A NM and have just under 1000 rounds through it shooting steel silhouettes from 300-800 yards. The scope has held up well with no problems and I have not had parallax issues. I bought a second SS 3-9X for my LMT MWS. I will be taking it out tomorrow for the first time. Now go out and get that thing dirty and we can compare notes. Great looking rig. I hope it shoot as good as it looks.

Very nice! Glad you went with the Bobro mount. We have been very impressed with the quality and ingenuity. Anxious to hear the range report!

Congratulations Jason, hope you enjoy shooting her. I think this forum also deserves credit for great sharing of useful information. It offers in-depth reviews of products and alternatives with minimal dogmatic loyalism that other forums embrace. I think many enthusiasts have found great products at affordable prices such as SS 3-9X because of this forum. I wouldn't have known about the SS 10X effectiveness and value without reading it here. Will look forward to your review!

Hopefully I'll be scrounging around for a similar rig in a month or two. I want the same rifle, just not sure what route I'll be going on Optics and Mount...

...VERY NICE!

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

Jason,

I don't mean to sound critical, but isn't that Bobro mount too tall?

That mount is designed for a proper cheek weld (1.52") on top a regular flat-top receiver. Your POF rail runs across the back of the receiver making things taller than normal. The additional height of the Bobro would then put the scope up too high.

Also, why a cantilever mount when you have a continuous uninterrupted rail system? It seems like a couple LaRue (or other) QD rings would have been the way to go.

Again, not being critical, just want to know if I'm missing something.

I'm going to have to agree here. I'm a huge fan of the Bobro mount where a QD is necessary. Just not sure this is really the right application, but I'm guessing you have your reasons. Very nice rig, BTW.

I agree. Way to tall. Would seem like you cant even properly get your cheek weld due to it being so high up....

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

That or he has future plans on tossing a scope with a bigger bell diameter on it later. Good move with the scope mount. Do yoy have any plans on getting a different scope down the road?

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

I don't know what to tell you, I have an average face yet found it comfortable. Remember, that's a fairly low profile scope, had it of been a 4-16x56 Hensoldt at that height it would have been much closer to the rifle in appearance but the center of the scope would have been in the same place.

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

POF's are great rifles. That scope is kinda high though. I use .885 rings on my POF223 with NF 2.5-10x32 and it works great. I have to use a 1.375 unimount to fit a 3.5-15x56 on a POF308. Have to pay more attention to cheek weld with that combo.

BTW, Larue + POF doesn't work well together.

You can mount the sling swivel on the bottom to mount a bipod.

Be sure to post a range report when you get time!

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

The POF .308 mates pretty well with the Bobro. I added 1/2" of comb and it is perfect for me. Even without the addition of comb it was very shootable just more comfortable in prone for me with the extra 1/2" Maybe the photos don't do it justice? I am 5"8 185 so am a little "compact" compared to average.

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

forgot to ask you earlier but I did notice that you are running the new tripple port muzzle brake and was wanting to know how its working out for you. I have the older single port muzzle brake and was looking into getting the new tripple ports from POF after seeing the videos on their website. I havent heard any reviews on the newer brake and was wanting to know if you like it and does it serve you well.

Re: POF 308 w/ Super Sniper 3-9 and Bobro Mount (pics)

FWIW there are two different heights of Bobro mounts. That's definitely the taller of the two.
Here's the one I have when I had it on my 16" AR10 SASS with a Millet TRS1. Notice it's lower. The other one is also a full cantilever. This isn't.

Jason, are you shooting the 175 SMK projo? If so, just curious, what kind of speed are you getting with the 16.5" barrel. I have a 20" trying to work up a load for it with IMR4064 and has a little problem.
