You are correct. What most don't know is that almost always there is a choice to not buy chinese machinery and chinese-made components. That choice costs a little more up front but it almost always pays off in the long run. Like when you want to add a new program to your chinese machine to wind a different stator but the chinks won't give you the access password to the PLC after you bought it.

That last part you mentioned. I think it's a little of both. They crank out junk by the boatload then sit back and laugh while raking in the money Americans spend on their junk.

A more likely scenario would be our politicians orchestrating a collapse of the economy and helping social unrest get out of hand, then "Inviting" the Chinese to come in as "UN Peacekeepers".

Shooting war with the chinese? Well, I am too old to enlist. I just had a birthday and now I am only 10 years from my max retirement. So, yeah, body is breaking down. I have to have daily meds for hypertension and high cholesterol. I am, however, a redneck in a small town with a number of rifles, a shottie, and 9. And some ammo. And a predilection to practice with those things and hang out in a forum where people get pissed if they go wider than 3/8 MOA on a group.
