They kept telling my sister it was the strep and this and that. Virus caused this autoimmune that. Turned out like we suspected and told them in the beginning is was lyme disease. It took almost a decade and 20 doctors to diagnose what we told them it was on day 1. Her treatment plan is working much better now. They actually could have done something about it early on though.
PANDAS?
My daughter was diagnosed TD1 the day after her 5th year visit to the pediatrician.
My wife had mentioned to the "DR" that our daughter had started wetting the bed and seemed insatiably thirsty.
The "DR" said it was nothing just a phase.
That night I googled "is thirsty and wets the bed" and everything came back Type I diabetes.
The next day we asked for a blood test and the "DR" resisted but begrudgingly ordered one.
That night and the next 4 days we were in the Emergency Room being trained to treat Type I diabetes.
Her 2-4 years were marked with strep infections, ear aches, ear tubes, adenoid removal, amoxicillin ten day cycles.
I think that repeated assault was too much and the Drs should know it.
My son with the back to back strep bouts and the constant ten day on amoxicillin, short break, another strep, back on, he had his tonsils and adenoids removed also. Than within a 24 hour period his personality went from totally independent to anxiety ridden and unable to function on his own unless parents were present.
He has been on antibiotics now for close to 5 years because PANDAS is basically rheumatism of the brain. Your immune system cracks the blood brain barrier and screws with your lizard brain the amygdala. People with rheumatic hearts have strep of the heart and their immune system needs to be suppressed. Sucky part with my son is he is on low dose SSRI. I dont think it does shit but getting him off it is not a cold turkey decision. I think he needs to be off it soon while he is developing or his natural systems are never going to work.
We investigated Lyme early but it didnt fit and the 24 hour change in personality was the tell tale. No real illnes or other syptoms besides the anxiety and personality decline.
But what do I know.
I think something in our environment/food chain has created a weaker blood brain barrier. That thing is supposed to be impenetrable and historically has been.
This theory of my is concerning in light of the new "vaccines". How bout some spike protein in your amygdala sir.
We are going to be in for some big problems with a society of anxiety ridden dependents.
