The harder the media and government worked to bury the facts - the stronger the conviction that they were outright lying. And obviously, over time the “conspiracy theorists” were proven correct.

It just looked like a right vs left decision because more people on the right reviewed the available facts instead of believing the media and jumping to an emotional choice to join the other sheeples. If somebody is trying to force you to do something while hiding the available evidence that disputes their claims - then it’s certainly not to your benefit to blindly believe their story.
