Stuff for farmin/big gardens is indeed more expensive. I was really fortunate when we first moved to buy a disk, cultivator and bottom plow for $400….yes $400 and all in great condition. Got my row hiller for $100 plus a few parts I had to buy.
I look at CL weekly for deals and there aren’t any. People around here are farmers and/or do big gardens and are holding on to implements. Folks who stopped gardening have dusted off their Cub tractors and have started canning again.
People think growing food is simple, it isn’t and if you’re not practicing and doing it now you will be hungry when the economy takes a dump.
In the end, this is not going to turn out well for them.

There is soybean oil in everything.
Its put in snack foods for "shelf life".
They used to use coconut oil and palm oil for shelf life, but that stuff is " bad for you".
Cottonseed oil is another one they use for shelf life, its not suitable for human consumption either.
