I have moved wide loads in my past. This move has all the signs of "someone" disregarding all of the rules that are in place to keep people from getting killed. All the insurance money and lawsuit money can't bring people back from the dead.

A collision big enough to knock 175tons off SPMTs is significant. Posted another photo. Appears the truck was routed against the "normal flow of traffic" by looking at the signage. In that case, the only vehicle that should have been close to the load would have been the pilot car (escort).

A lot of states forbid these type loads to move at night.
State DOT has set hours after daylight to before dark that dictate when they are allowed to move. One half-hour before sunrise and one-half hour after sunset is considered daylight time.
Loads that size include pre-planned route negotiation to handle tight turns, low clearances and have pre-selected areas where they can pull off the roadway for the night.

One of my first jobs was working at a green house. They had CO2 generators that ran on propane. I was to swap out the tanks when they ran dry and roll the tanks over so they could be replace with full one. Yup this place burned propane to make CO2.
I am not sure just what it does, but I do know in the early 80's this was a thing. Not sure if it still is.
