Conventional wisdom is that these decisions are a way of telling the Democrats to fuck off on court packing. If you notice, all of the split decisions are on weird ideological lines. Sotomayor, who is the only truly awful justice on the court, is having a hard time playing along, and is writing a lot of her own concurring opinions.

You seem to be under the impression that I think this to be a good idea. In case anyone else shares your misunderstanding, let me clearly state that this would be a disaster and likely the end of the Republic. At the very least, they'd get statehood for DC and PR, some sort of proportional representation in the Senate, nullification of the BoR, and would probably fuck around with the Supreme Court. And that's just the starting point.

That's always been my worry...it's like going back to Philadelphia and starting over. I think I heard Mark Levin say that this isn't the way it works, that the amendments to be addressed are pre-agreed upon; yet, based on the text I don't think that is the case because it doesn't say "specific amendments" just that they can propose amendments - which means ANYTHING is on the table (my interpretation as a Perry Mason viewer).

You still didn't answer my question, and I don't care because I wouldn't read it anyway. I know the answer already, to what caused "excess deaths." So should anyone else that dealt with any health care over the last year. We culled tons of frail people by not giving them healthcare, and very likely killed some healthy ones too. Now we are back to being able to get regular healthcare, like in all of 2019 up until March, when the "spike" started. And now total deaths are falling!!!! Fuckin shocker right there....
