I’m 100% with you. I get exactly what the article is saying. My question was only how do you explain the anomalies as there has to be outliers out there. How do you explain scientifically those that excelled despite going through the same lack of social interaction as the others?
Trust me, I truly believe the lockdown set people back in many ways. I mean forcing kids to wear mask and distance themselves from people and having them believe that some deadly virus is in the air all around them has to have some psychological impacts as well.
As far as playing with them and giving them attention and all goes, we could all probably do better. I play with my kids and try to give them attention but probably not near as much as I should. Academically my kids are way ahead of others there age, where I notice the shortcomings the most is on the playground. They’re just slower physically than all the others, reaction time, anticipating things, grip strength, can’t run as fast and run kind of weird and so on. But they did lose nearly two years of play time. We let them play with people we know even when we werent supposed to, but we didn’t go to the playground like we once did as I can’t control who they get around there and so on.
I tell you parenting is hard, lol. And you always wonder if you are doing good enough but that’s also what gives me hope that I am doing good enough. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t care about it. I constantly bash myself wondering if I’m doing good enough.
