Twice, Gaetz’s eyes didn’t follow the prompt.
Gaetz, who had recently begun practicing law, declined any field sobriety tests. He was arrested and refused the breath test.
Weeks after the arrest, Anglin, the officer who arrested Gaetz, reportedly resigned amid several alleged infractions, including that he used excessive force against another DUI suspect soon after Gaetz’s arrest. After Anglin quit, “the prosecutor asked to be taken off the case, because his stepson was friends with Gaetz. Then-Gov. Charlie Crist’s office assigned the case to Steve Meadows, the state attorney for the neighboring circuit,” according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Gaetz’s defense attorney, Drew Pinkerton, filed a motion to dismiss the case that December. According to a report at the time from the Northwest Florida Daily News, the defense claimed that Gaetz had answered “no” to the officer’s question about whether he had too much to drink — not to whether he had anything to drink. Guys, please do not fall for the divide and conquer tactics of the media and become a political FUDD. I have a lot of issues with a lot of things that Republicans do but for now the sitting representatives and senators are the only group that can slow the USA's destruction by the communists in DC.
Are there too many infringements already that were proposed or endorsed by Republicans? Yes, but when you stand on the edge of a cliff, you do not fucking worry about how many roses are lining your path until you get off the edge. If the civil, legal, and political processes are unable to stop the communist's wrecking ball in the next year or three, then go ahead and burn this bitch down. The quicker the totalitarian nightmare ends, the sooner can future generations rebuild.
Until then, have some faith and do your job on the local level. Get involved in anything that decides where the money goes and what policies are followed. School boards, select men, county, etc., If you can't run for office, then voice your needs to your representatives and help the campaigns of those you deem trustworthy. Vote and -most importantly- help counting the votes correctly.
Do not let the "perfect" be the enemy of the "good" or "better". We barely lost the last election because we were too busy with other things while our enemies agitated, organized, canvasses, harvested and cheated. They did everything, we did nothing and it was still a close call. Half their effort (the legal portion) put in from our side and the pendulum will swing the other way.

Gaetz did not vote for red flag laws for the average Joe or for raising the debt ceiling, he voted for passing the NDAA in the house to be submitted to the senate. It was mentioned in another thread here that the red flag language is supposed to be removed before final submission to the senate and even if that's not the case is still needs senate approval and even then the infringements are unlikely to become law.
Please search (CTRL+ F) the NDAA for the name of any Republican you like to scrutinize and you'll see how they voted in detail. Please also search for the word "extremism" and observe the votes there. You know very well what "extremism" means these days. Basically anything disagreeing with the ruling party.

FED EMPLOYEE VACCINE MANDATE UPDATE
Hi everybody,
I'm a supervisor of federal employees. Last week I posted that I was told by someone in HR that the religious exemption to the vaccine mandate would be a simple self-certification with no questions asked.
Today, I had a meeting that involved the chief of HR for our agency, and I learned three things.
1. Due to the anticipated volume of exemption requests, our agency is establishing a "centralized process" for dealing with religious exemptions. They are working with DOJ to standardize this across all federal agencies.
2. Supervisors have been offered training next week (Oct 5-7) to learn about this centralized process.
3. They will not be utilizing the standard progressive disciplinary process for people who do not get vaccinated.
Taken together, my expectation is that agencies will either basically blanket approve or blanket reject religious exemptions. Either everybody is getting fired or nobody is getting fired. Given that agencies lack resources to absorb the legal battles caused by blanket rejection or the turnover caused by mass firings, I think this entire federal employee mandate is just a big psyop to scare people into getting vaccinated. A few people will fall for the trap and His Fraudulency II will declare victory for having boosted vaccination numbers among federal employees. Hold the line.
P.S. We are not recording our meetings discussing this issue. This is highly unusual.
