Well, one clear difference, if you look at my later post, is that the person in question is a generation removed from me, and never in my life has anybody touched me inappropriately, unless you count my wife when she is feeling randy. Anyway, I think because of that I probably have a strange imagination of what predatory behavior is like in real life. Who knows. I am just spitball self analyzing here.
I really wasn't allowed around that uncle, other than at big family celebrations, until I was old enough to defend myself, and of no interest anyway. And by the time I actually found out about all of it, I was a relatively grown man. My mother actually only ever said anything to anybody other than my father and her therapist because her niece, the daughter of the predator, adopted a girl after having three boys, and my mother felt that at that point it was her duty.
