A break from covid
Be patient, this is not a bitch session
Seems like ole Pete (who is a touch light on his feet) has loads of cash to give municipality’s and thus is very popular. (Guess you really can buy votes cause that’s what it all looks like)
Anyway, in our little parish where the government seems at times to be just a slight bit on the …… (read between the lines) recently the parish recreation committee, which is part of and answers to the police jury, recently approved without allowing public comment $3,000,000.00 of tax payers money to increase the size of the golf clubs course from 9 holes to 18 holes.
Now our little parish has a population of around 15,000 but the golf club encompasses ONLY 58 (fifty-eight) of those 15,000. See what I mean about our parish government not always appearing to be totally on the up and up. Not a lot coming in, but a whole lot going out (of our pockets in a parish where the roads would make the folks in Snuffy Smith’s local bow their heads in shame)
POINT: Since ole pete gots lots of cash to give away, I was thinking that maybe we could/should requestt an indoor 1000 yard shooting range and of course a nice indoor Velodrome for our parish. A lot more than 58 or our Parish’ residents shoot and hunt. A nice indoor range of 1000 yards would be a nice addition to our parish adn one in your parish or county would be nice too. And, indoor velodrome? The world will show up to have World Cup races with all the economic benefits. ola pete, think of the tax dollars the new, expanded IRS can chase after, when we have multiple World class events at our locals a couple times a year. So get going fellows, get those letters to pete.
Special note, the Sheriff’s department in Jackson Parish is a fine example of honesty and upstanding service. Perfect, no, but Andy Brown and his predecessors have done a fine job of building and maintaining a fine law enforcement department. The Hodge and Jonesboro Police departments seem to be well run and work to serve the citizens of our parish as well..
