Tetanus is the least of your worries from a bite from a feral cat. Did they quarantine the cat for rabies? Do you know of it's whereabouts and well-being right now?
The backstory was they had just been trapped and fixed and had been caged together in a large cage, over a week recuperating in the Cat Ladies apartment. Reasonably sure they were not rabid. They probably would have figured that out in the process of fixing them.
It was in the process of transferring them out of the big cage into smaller cages that was the fiasco. And then that one of them chomped my finger numerous times right thru the glove --and then that they got out. 3 of the nastiest, squirming, whipping, twisting, angry hissing fuckers.... into the ladies apartment. The hilarity had only just begun.
She is also a hoarder.... so try finding 3 pissy cats in a hoarder's apartment. OMFG. While she was freaking out - several times burst out in tears that her home was being turned upside down first with cats flying ---up the drapes --down the drapes, across the couch --behind the couch--crashing and banging her wind chimes so fucking loud I just wanted to yank and stomp on them.
I'm something of an oddball I guess because desipte all the work of moving mountains of useless shit... bleeding profusely all the while from the first encounter, trying to contain the dripping blood, I'm finding it hysterically funny and I could NOT stop laughing.
Like doubled over laughing at some points.
Finally at the cost of numerous potted plants tipping over and what had once been piles of shit, now strewn for miles.. I found them and one by one dragged them out from under a mountain of boxes (and from of course the MOST impossible to get to, distant) corner. By that point I had wised up and rather than just using gloves, I threw a towel over them. Fighting the urge to suffocate and choke the living fucking shit out of them as I put them in their smaller individual cages.
I told her look at the bright side --"gives you an opportunity to sort some stuff out and toss what you don't want." It was not appreciated. Apparetly all the shit is good shit. Including a collection of plastic tops that had no bottom container.
Took her days to re-pile her crap.
