DEATH TRAP

Cheap, malfunctioning, and deadly Chinese electric bike battery packs strike again. An e-bike battery pack being charged vented hydrogen and created a small fuel air detonation in the enclosed space of a Chinatown bike shop this morning, sparking an extremely fast moving fire that ignited other batteries and gutted the entire building, killing 4 people.

Virtually all high capacity lithium ion batteries made currently, including individual 18650 and 21700 cells, have smart circuitry integrated in the battery's charging circuits that automatically cut off all electric flow if it detects an overheating, venting, or other malfunction of the battery, both while being charged and used. Samsung flattop 18650s used for electronic cigarette mods as well as button top Fenix 18650/21700s for high lumen flashlights, are all built with safety shutoff circuitry that prevents battery fire and explosion in case of malfunction. Most of the cheap e-bike battery packs sourced from second-hand factories in China that recycle defective products from other plants do not have such circuitry built in, making them extremely low cost and popular with delivery couriers who put a lot of miles on their bikes and scooters. Over 20 people have died this year alone in NYC from fires caused by these defective batteries.
Currently building a small solar array to power some of my shop. I really did it because I wanted to learn a new thing and I really like doing electrical work.....Putting in outlets, lights, running wire that kind of thing.

The "cheap" chinese batteries are indeed "a thing". Some of them are down right junk. You really need to do the best research you can on all of this stuff if you want to play around with this.

I took some time off around my birthday early this week and finally "finished" the inside part of the install. I still need to mount the cells on the side of my building. Side you say......Yup the building has 24' side walls and I am not as young as I once was, so side it will be. I will loose a few hours of sun but I really don't care.

Same thing goes with "toy" batteries. RC toys, or other things. You need to get good cells. Oddly enough "good" RC cells are some of the best batteries. People are very mean to RC batteries and crappy batteries will not be on the market for long.

My "max" draw in my shop. All lights, fans and such powered up. No tools like saws, sanders, grinders......

If you have interest in this stuff I suggest you play with it. It is very educational. From the start I always figured that this "clean energy" was a total farce. Now that I have build a small setup that goes double. This is in a 30x40 shop and does not power anything 220 I have power for about 4 hours with my current setup if I am careful. It will take roughly a day of zero use to recharge the batteries all the way back up.

On a side note I really built this so I could run the furnace blower fridge and freezers over night if there was a long term power outage. My house has a propane gen, but if I can turn it off and save some propane so much the better. I can make some power to keep the food cool.

I am in an apartment but I also have backup power systems to run essential appliances in case something happens. I only use Jackery brand power packs and these are REALLY good. I have a smaller Jackery that I carry with me on the job that I can run worklights and drill/driver battery packs. For larger needs my Honda gas genny on a dolly covers it.

Many different types of lithiums are out on the market and the funny thing is, almost all of them are made in China. It is the source of the factories that matter. Samsung and Fenix, the ones making the 18650s that I use, are made in the factories in Shenzhen that are contracted with these companies and have QC personnel on site to make sure that products getting shipped out meet all safety standards. The danger lies in that these same factories do not like to chuck defective items and production errors into the junk pile where they are supposed to go, but they crate them up and sell them to second hand factories at marked down cost. These second hand factories then "fix" these items and sell them with no-brand, nonserialized labels. That is how you can tell they might be defective even though they look like the official branded products. These are the culprits that are being imported en masse by the bike shops here and placed into high capacity packs that operate at pretty high current and voltage.

These are the Samsung flattop 18650s that I use in my Vaporesso and Smok Arcfox vape mods. VERY good capacity from 2500 to 3000 MAH and a full cell lasts almost a week running at 18-20 watts with 0.3 ohm coils for 50mg salt nicotine e liquid. (For cigar smokers just 5 non-inhale puffs on that output equals a medium to full bodied cigarillo.) You will also see the notice that they are "not for ecig or vape". That is directed towards those individuals who used to build their own vape mods back in 2011-2015 before current day devices with Axon chip computer controls are introduced. These homemade devices, called "mechanical mods", have no safety and temperature/output regulation and they often fried these batteries, causing the manufacturers to label them to avoid being blamed for accidents in these types of devices. All mods built from 2016 onward like the Smok and Vaporesso, are chip controlled and just like the batteries, have circuitry that regulate current and wattage so they are completely safe to use with branded batteries.

Now if you look around a lot and are not paying attention, you might find this mixed in at a dealer's inventory too:

Note the difference between the two. The Samsung labeled one, often with metallic stickers on the other side that are also clearly branded and with battery capacity and output ranges labeled, have smart circuitry built in that will cut off power in the event that an overheating, short, or gas venting is detected. The purples ones on the bottom are mass sourced from Alibaba and do not have official brands and labels. THESE are the ones to stay away from. They also have no such safety circuitry.

ETA: It is not the color that matters. Flattops are color coded based on their MAH capacity and they come in green, purple, blue, and gray. It is the labeling and stickers on them that distinguishes them from potentially dangerous second-hands.

Even AI knows democrats are ugly motherfuckers.

Conservative women, AKA normal women, take care of themselves and are very conscious of being presentable and professional at all times. Leftist women, as everybody knows now just from Tiktok videos, are a dumpster fire of multiple mental disorders, narcissism, victim mentality, and constant "rage against the system". And what system are they raging against? Hell nobody got any clue. All of that enveloped by a crust of neglected hygiene, some with horrific gender reaffirming scars, self harm, and obvious junk food imbibing. The results, and differences are obvious.

I have a very intelligent buddy that's a retired engineer. His entire shop is solar powered. Huge panels and pallet racks of truck batteries that store the energy. He designed it completely himself. We have discussed at length and for him it has zero to do with being "green".

It's about when the power goes out, and when/if it comes back on.

Now kick him off of all his committees, where they get $40K per year for each committee that they are on.
Then bring charges against him, have him arrested and tried. Then do the same for the nine (9) republicants that were in the Comey Brennan and clapper closed door hearing when they admitted it was a Hoax.

Vote harder!!
Vote with a Rope .........

see? kerry isn't shilling for free.

Hmm. Kerry. Let me guess. Daughter?

This is how they will orchestrate the next "plandemic"/lockdowns. Given how most countries relinquished their sovereignty to this "higher" power, they get final say in any and every thing in the name of whatever narrative they chose.

Expect WHO to also get much more involved in the 2A debate as well - when Branden's (Soros') dream fails on SCOTUS challenge, this will be their back-up.

Lol.. if she ain't a blood relation, but married into the family.. yet still has the Kerry horse face, that would be some divine intervention shit dude.

All so very true. On many of the sites and in a great deal of the videos that cater to the DIY guy and they talk about the "junk" stuff that is out there. And there are many examples of junk in every component, even wire. Copper Clad Aluminum is often marked as "copper". You need different wire for different things, and you are not fooling around with small numbers here. DC voltage and amps that will flat kill you dead. Roughly as your DC voltage goes up you get more efficent It takes work to get good stuff.

And yet.. let Barron Trump cheat on a homework assignment, and they'd execute him with a guillotine on national TV.
Motherfuckers
It’s not the dems fault everyone blames the dems……..nothing would happen unless the republicans wanted it to happen…….
