those prices make it clear this is "surge" or demand pricing, not related to manuracturing costs, else RL50 (unpopular) would not cost so much less than RL15/16/33 (more popular).Supposedly lowest prices of the year on Alliant Powders ; So IF you're an Alliant fan take a gander .

Bass and Antler is a local gun store in Milledgeville GA. I am local and buy reloading supplies there on occasion.
In Texas I've been on a lot of work trips stopping into LGS and seeing overall higher prices on powder but I've been scoring normal prices on 210m and 215mIs it me, or is it easier and cheaper to find powder local now than online? It used to be the other way around, meaning the local guys were trying to gouge higher prices than the online guys. Now I can get RL16 local about $100 cheaper than online. Same with H4350, Varget, and several other powders, $50 cheaper than online

Just to reintroduce it in short order at a 40% increase right? That’s some MBA thinking right there.

Both can't import enough nor produce enough (to satisfy both retail consumer demand and military demand). China, India, Thailand are the top 3 largest exporters of nitrocellulose. Global demand is through the roof and nitrocellulose is used for more than just gunpowder."A worldwide shortage of nitrocellulose..."
Does that mean they can't get it? Or they can't make enough?
Interesting. Thank you. Both can't import enough nor produce enough (to satisfy both retail consumer demand and military demand). China, India, Thailand are the top 3 largest exporters of nitrocellulose. Global demand is through the roof and nitrocellulose is used for more than just gunpowder.

EU companies exporting nitrocellulose to support the Russian military
Despite EU sanctions prohibiting exports to the Russian military, there are reports that European companies are still supplying the Russian military with nitrocellulose, a substance critical for the production of artillery ammunition that primarily causes civilian collateral damage.
According to reports in the media[1], Russian imports of nitrocellulose increased by 70 % in 2022 and stood at 3 039 tonnes in mid-2023, almost double the 2021 level. Only a handful of companies, based in the USA, Türkiye, China and Germany, produce the substance, and according to the reports, EU-based companies are among those producing the nitrocellulose that is later shipped to Russia.
Moreover, the exponential increase in imports of the substance by Russia has created scarcity on the international market and has led to delays in the production of artillery ammunition by NATO countries.

- 1.Is the Commission aware of EU-based companies supplying nitrocellulose to the Russian military, and will it incentivise official investigations on the basis of the reports made by reputable media outlets?
- 2.Will the Commission incorporate its findings into guidance to help the Member States identify the entities involved in the breaches and coordinate appropriate steps, including by proposing sanctions on the individual companies supplying the nitrocellulose through third parties?
Nitrocellulose Market Size, Share & Trends Analysis Report By Application (Automotive Paints, Wood Coatings, Printing Inks), By Region (Asia Pacific, Europe, North America), And Segment Forecasts, 2023 - 2030
Asia Pacific dominated the industry in 2022 and accounted for the maximum share of more than 45.55% of the overall revenue. This is attributed to a rise in the product application scope in the paints and coatings sector. Countries like Thailand, India, and China are the largest producers as well as exporters. Trade and use of nitrocellulose in these countries are high because of its use in products like printing inks, automotive paints, wood coating, and leather tanning & finishes. With the growing tourism sector & construction industry and improved standard of living, the demand for wooden items is anticipated to increase in countries like the U.S. and Canada, which is anticipated to boost the product demand in the North America region.
