Im sad to report that our member Zen Biker lost the love of his life, Trina, last Friday. I didnt know her well but she seemed a sweet, warm hearted woman. I know she had a lot of physical problems that kept her in a lot of pain, and long term pain takes its toll.

His name is Wes and Im sure he can use any energy we can send.

She was a beautiful woman Wes. I wish I could have known her when whe was more healthy. There is wisdom in what youre doing, Rather than just hurting, turning a bad break into a positivve move. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Call if you need anything.

Zen is a school of Buddhism. Those are Buddhist prayer wheels. I thought that the image might be of comfort to him.

Perhaps I should have chosen another image, more general to the concept.

Trina’s Celebration Service was Monday. I piled the dogs into our little reardrop camper and drove two hours to a little campground a few miles from Peacemaker, just for lack of any other options. Nowhere else to go, and I have never felt like the life has been sucked out of me so badly. I need some mental away tome, but if anybody can recommend a counselor who works via Skype or FaceTime, I’m asking for help with this. I can’t do this on my own.

Time Brother. It's gonna feel like a sledge hammer to the nuts for a long time. Then it will feel like a balltine hammer between the eyes for a long time. Then It will feel like you lost a arm for a long time. The reason it hurts so much is because you had so much to loose. Nobody can take that pain away because it is what is left of her in you. Be thankful for the pain. Do you have any family you can speak with? If you ever had any religion you might want to think about seeking help through your church.

But there is no shortcut to dealing with the pain from this kind of loss. There is nothing anyone can tell you that will make it easier. Here is the thing though, put your self in her place. Suppose you had been taken from her rather than what happened, in that case what would you want her to do? I'm sure that if you could reach back from beyond you would tell her that you want more than anything for her to go through the pain and eventually find meaningful and important purpose.

Grief is not easy, just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

When it boils right down to it you have to do it on your own. We can all be ere as friends. A counsoler may help but as with all else, its in you hands. Be strong.

Thanks. Don’t want to wallow or be a whiner. This is seriously crushing. She died because no doctor would help despite my pleas. Seriously don’t understand the world we live in. Asking God where the lines are; how to deal with the neglect and lack of compassion that caused this. Not looking for retribution or vengeance, just a way to cope with this meaningless loss.

This is what gets me through the day right now:

Veer, your intentions are well received, thank you. Not that I want to start a deep philosophical discussion, but the concept of Zen is its own entity/practice, independent of anyreligious or spiritual school of thought. You are correct, it is most commonly associated with Buddhism, which adopted its tenets into its practice, wisely so. Again, I deeply appreciate your thoughts and the gesture of the prayer wheels.
