It's a factory finish. Brown with black speckles all over. I'm going to be painting gap camo, but with primarily tan and black, with hints of green.

Getting more used to the Sako bipod, but it is different than ATLAS and Harris and I am not fully "on board" with it. Still kept most 5 round groups at around 1" C/C with the best one going just below 0.7". I know I can do better, but not today.

Here is a couple of my semi custom rifles
338 Edge R700 with 30" Carbon six barrel, stockys stock, sightron S3 8-32x56 in burris xtr rings. Smithing done by hunters run gun shop. Brake, bolt fluting, timing and handle done by straight shot gun smithing.

Next is a Tikka 6.5 PRC with 27" K&P barrel, JCS carbon stock (my paint), Leupold mark 5 5-25x56 in ARC m10 rings, Mtn tactical bottom metal and glades armory bolt handle. All work done by straight shot gunsmithing out of Center ND

And last is a Tikka 25 SST with a 26" Hawk hill barrel, Iota Stock, leupold mark 5 7-35x56 in ARC M10 rings ctr bottom metal and glades armory bolt handle. Also built by straight shot gunsmithing.

And yes I'm waiting for pic rails for atlas cal bipod on Prc and 338 edge

My current setup. This was my step into the magnum calibers and I'm never looking back. A very basic setup that doesn't break the bank and with the right shooting fundamentals can keep up with much more expensive options. Here in KY, finding a place to stretch it out is a bigger challenge than actually doing so.

Thanks. I had a custom rail made that extended all the way to the front so i could use the Evo. If you want an easy solution just grab a cheap scope rail and drill two holes and bolt it to where your two sling studs would be.

I use the Cal now because it has less slop in the legs and feels a bit more solid. The Evo is a great bipod no doubt, super stable with the apex of the legs being above the bore line and very high quality. I also loved how the legs deploy without having to push any buttons and the spring loaded feet are really easy to use behind the rifle when prone. My problem was that i got the short leg version which when fully retracted was way too short for any situation that i would use it for so i got the leg extensions. The bipod already has a bit of play in the legs and with the extensions it was even greater. Thats fine if you like a bit of slop and load the rifle, i just wanted something more solid. The Cal is great. Very solid and stable with its wide stance. You wont regret buying one.

I'll answer the easy one first. Case is a Pelican V800 that was on sale at Cabela's and they let me use my military discount on top of that so it was only $160.
Barrel length-Cause I couldn't make up my mind between 24 and 22. It came as a 26 cause they had them on the shelf and I didn't want to wait. I wanted a 24 but tried the 26 to see how I'd like it. It was too long, especially suppressed. So I wasn't sure if 24 would be short enough. My last rifle was a 22" 260 that was great. Anyway, took it to LRI to get it cut down cause 26 was not good, after BS'ing with them for a minute we decided to split the difference and go with 23. I like it so far and it was good enough for MJ, so...

This will be my first serious attempt to get myself into the precision world. A move that may well end up costing me more money I could (and probably should) be putting into my Jeep build... In fact, this is what finally prompted me to join up here, thinking I was going to have to learn a lot once I got in to the precision world.

New Magpul Hunter stock came in today for the .243 Remington 700. I got this rifle used in a Boyd's stock. Pretty, but no pillars or bedding block, and just a tiny bit of glass bedding around the recoil lug. Although an "el-cheapo" by precision stock standards, I'm living on VA disability, so kinda on a budget. The Magpul Hunter seems pretty comfy for what it is. Been playing with is since I put it on. I may have to take off one of the stock spacers. It does check most of the same boxes as the $900+ custom stocks do, including having an aluminium bedding block built into it.

The scope is a Nikon M-Tactical .308 4-16x42SF BDC 800. This is also a budget piece, but I've had the 1" tube version for a few years, and have liked it well enough to keep it, and swap it out to 3 or 4 different guns. It's on my Brazilian Mauser now, and does quite well. Too bad Nikon quit the scope game. I think they did pretty good on the lower end of the budget spectrum for guys like me.

I have a Chrono on the way, (finally) so once I can get out shooting again, I'll be able to make some ballistic tables (in MOA to match the turrets) for it. Also, I can choose my caliber, and ammo load in Nikon's "Spot on" app to go with the BDC reticle as well.

Painted the stock on the Bergara today. Waiting for a full cure before reassemble, but wanted to share with you all. Used alumahyde and stencils, going for a reverse GAP look, less green, more tan and black.

Just another day at the range. Wife and kid was there with me, both had a go with the TRG 22.
This rifle rocks.

Tried out handloads with Lapua Scenar 155 bullets and Norma powder. They are running at 2760fps and work great, No problems holding sub moa groups at both 100 and 300 meters.

It is a TRG22 with KRG folding stock, oldschool Nightforce NXS scope that usually rides on my Mark 13 mod 5 build. Sako bipod, Stalon suppressor and some other KRG bits and bobs.
