Thanks! I don't have much to compare it to, but it feels sturdy and is comfortable. It does have a plastic/composite texture, but I've never handled a McMillan or HS Precision to compare the feel to, either.

I wish I could give you a better idea.

Re: precision rifles... show em

I got another one somewere parts are everywere. AICS 1.5 S/A, LSR Worked over Short action, Rock barrel, this time a premier Single tern Gen2 XR..... Be done by late summer when barrel arrives.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Here's a few. The first is a Remington .308 with a Shilen barrel, Manners GAT stock and Badger bolt knob. I bought it from another SH member and added the Premier scope. I'm enjoying the heck out of it now. The camo isn't very good for southern California, but I'm sure it worked fin in the rifle's original home in Vermont. I kind of like it, I don't really need to disappear in the desert with mine, and I haven't worked up the gumption to paint that expensive new scope.

Next we have a trio of precision rifles. Well, precision rifles of their day. From top to bottom we have the .308, a .30-06, and the original precision rifle, a Kentucky rifle in .45.

The .30-06 was built around the first of May, 1918, so it just passed its 91st birthday. My father made the stock for it sometime in the early 1960s, and used it to bring home many a deer over the years. It still shoots well, and the wood and workmanship is beautiful. I don't begrudge any of the dings in it.

The Kentucky rifle was built by the well-known smith Homer Dangler. It's a keeper too.

Looking to hopefully build something similar within the next few months but with an adjustable stock.

Nice rig. Where do you shoot it? I'm from right up the river from you and I'm looking for a place in the area where I can get a decent stretch to do some long range shooting. I pick up my new 5r next week. Need to get some rounds through it.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Now has:
Badger Rings, 20 MOA Base, Bottom Metal & Bolt Knob, Leupold LRT M3 3.5 x 10 Mil Dot and HS Precision stock, Pillar and Defcon bedded.
