I am curious if the Premier 5-25x56 is still a relevant scope option compared to the newer offerings on the market. I am aware of the possible warranty issue. Let's keep the topic on features, and quality. Also let's use the Gen 2 Razor as a baseline for comparison.
    Thanks in advance.

I liked the turrets on the Premier more then my Razor. Also it was way easier to zero.

Main thing is which reticle you like, both are pretty thin.

I went from the Gen 2 to a Premier because I was curious about it.

Pros for the premier over the Razor:
Turrents - much more solid and extremely loud and tactile (not as good as a TT or Schmidt, but very close)
Tool-less Zero- super neat feature and very easy to use.
Glass- while very subjective, I feel the Premiers glass is ever so slightly better than the Razor
    Parallax - Its extremely forgiving
Reticle- Lots of people don't like or think the Gen 2 XR is too thin. I have zero issues with it and my eye sight sucks! I think it is a very useful yet uncluttered reticle. I came from the Razor with the EBR-2C reticle and before that the Bushy G2 reticle. The Gen 2 XR is like the 2 had a baby. I like it a lot.
Locking diopter is a nice feature to have, i guess.

    Cons:
Turrents - the .1 marks are very close together and its easy to get lost. That said I usually just get close to the number I am shooting for when dialing and hold the difference i.e. if my dope is 2.9 I'll just go to 3.0 with the MTC turrets it make it very quick and easy to stop on a whole number. Then hold just slightly under center of the plate.
The zero on the razor can be adjusted much more precisely than the Premier.
Parallax has indicators whereas the Premier does not. Not really a big deal, but if I am shooting a stage that is, say 600 yards I like being able to just glance at the parallax set it around the indicated marks and call it good. Can't do that with the Premier.
I prefer locking turrets Razor has them, premier does not.

    Hope this helps.

I have a gen 2 razor and while I don't have a premier, I do have a TT so take it for what it's worth. I've have practically every high end scope brand and can say that the gen 2 is my second favorite scope ever.
I love the 10 mil turret and spacing is great. Locking turrets are a very good assurance when hunting etc. I like the ebr2c. I don't mind the gen2xr but I would prefer something else. I thought about getting a premier long and hard before my TT. I would say they are still relevant. Having said that, I wouldn't trade my gen 2 for a premier.

    Covert is as Covert does.

Plenty of good feedback on the scout site.

I love my premier.... I get funny looks at matches, people asking why I haven't "upgraded" to an atacr, vortex g2, etc. Having looked at the others, I'm not sure it would be an upgrade. Turrets are crisp, scope tracks great, glass is awesome, tool less zero is very nice. I also happen to like the g2 xr reticle. It's simple and it works..
