President Trump issued 3 pardons today

These three cases tell you all you need to know about life in the military.

1. The Lt. charged and convicted of murder on the word of seven dirtbags from his platoon. It is easy enough to find seven guys who dislike an officer, especially one who makes them work or expects them to perform. Finding a JAG officer willing to fabricate evidence or a group of them who would argue that just because the three Taliban guys on a motorbike, turned out to be three damned Taliban guys on a motorbike, does not mean it is not murder, is as easy as walking into any JAG office in the military.

2. The UCMJ is about guilty until proven innocent by a random group of three to seven company men who will decide a case based on what their command tells them to decide it upon, evidence be damned. The is no more rigged or unfair system of justice on earth. Under the UCMJ there is double and triple jeopardy. They can simply keep trying and keep reworking the evidence until you get convicted, they can try you for crimes you were convicted of in civilian court, they can use hearsay evidence and if they have no evidence, they can try you based on what they think happened with no supporting evidence.

3. When you shoot an asshole terrorist and you are an asshole who steals "cookie butter" from your metro-sexual, punk assed, coke snorting Navy SEAL flunkies, expect them to try and ratfuck you every chance they get. That stupid squid was a tool, just like the bunch of tools that worked for him. This whole incident shows that SEALS are basically a bunch of whining assholes.

4. Shut the hell up for God's Sake's. If you shoot a bomb maker and get cleared in 2010, do not go on Fox news and brag about shooting the idiot bomb maker in 2016. Shut the hell up. It is very apparent that since Clinton, their are commies in the military in large numbers, they hate America, they hate Republicans and they fucking hate soldiers who love to fight. They work for our enemy and they will do the work their leftist masters have tasked them to do. If you do a good thing, don't go public and stop writing fucking books and taking pictures of it for your fucking Facebook or blog.

5. In 2003, I smacked a Hilti gun (used .25 caliber rimfire blanks to shoot steel pins into concrete) out of the hands of a moron who closed the safeties and tried to fire it into a National Guardsman's back, it would have killed the guy. This moron was playing with the gun and thought it was funny, thank God the charges were poorly stored and it was a dud. I called this asshole a "fucking idiot" and ordered him off my job site. He cried to the commander. My commander was madder at me for calling a fucking idiot, a fucking idiot, than he was at the fucking idiot trying three times by his own admission to fire a 4" steel pin into the back of a man from 6 inches away. My no bullshit, get the job done work ethic was not in line with the kinder forces of leftism.

The case of the LT that supposedly ordered his troops to fire on innocent civilians is a quandary. Nine (IIRC) guys testified they were non-combatants. Did any of those nine obey his unlawful order?

Here is how 'fair' war should be!

Sirhr

actually, thats a little fairer than i would care to be.
after all, they are harvesting the cute little guys.
after clubbing the things in the head, to do things my kind of fair, you would stomp them flat and light them on fire...
then i would pull out my dick and piss on them

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. My opinion is that if you haven’t experienced __________, then you don’t rate to give an opinion about ________. That being said, I stand by my opinion that this was a bad move and that a lot of the blind support that follows it is toxic and ignorant. I’m sorry if you need a safe space and that a differing opinion online upsets you.

Also, the crayon thing is overplayed.
I don’t actually disagree that the opinions of those with experience doing _______ are worth listening to and their opinions likely hold more weight than those without said experience. But I think that all opinions rate being said. I’m pretty sure that’s what you fought for.
What I don’t think is that someone should tell me who I should or should not listen to and whether or not I should have an opinion. That’s the crux of my post.

And you are right, I did over play the last comment. I was in the moment of sarcastic humor.

Also, lololol how you try to make me the one who can’t handle a differing opinion. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I’m not the one trying to shut people down who voice opinions other than my own. I even lauded your telling me how I should act and think, though it was admittedly full on sarcasm.

Maybe my previous last comment wasn’t over the top and hit a nerve. ?

Nah it’s all good in the hood. No nerves hit, but I stand by what I said. Unfortunately I just realized that I don’t rate to talk on this as I didn’t commit war crimes on any of my deployments. So I don’t have a leg to stand on.

I’m also not trying to shut anyone down. I’m just voicing my opinion that they don’t rate to comment, that’s all. Literally just a differing option posted on an online platform. I’m not coming into their homes and removing their fingers or tongues. I’m not petitioning to have them removed from the hide or any other platform.

Were you there? Do you have evidence of their guilt you forgot to get to the prosecutors in time?

Having seen the UCMJ in action, I'd side with these three guys any day of the week. I personally know of a rape victim and it was 100% a rape by a Lt. Commander in the Navy of an E-5 in his chain of command. Everyone from NCIS to the ship's commander worked to court martial her as a seductress for illegally seducing a senior officer who offered her a ride to a unit party, then drove her 100 miles away to an empty hotel bar. They tried to ruin her life over this incident and hounded her out of the Navy.

From my personal experience, I walked into work one Monday and was read my rights because someone somewhere thought I had broken equipment that made their job impossible. The someone was a fucking alkie who was months behind on his job, the section chief loved him, they were drunks together. Of course is was bullshit. After I was read my rights, I declined to answer questions and requested a lawyer 38 times in the next four hours. Even the Security Forces guys watching my questioning began questioning the process. Not being an idiot myself, I knew it was pointless to use facts with this pair of scientists, I'd wait for a lawyer.

Here is the best joke of the day, a JAG lawyer (prosecutor) and an ADC lawyer ( the turd the military gives you for free) can work either side of the case. If a defense lawyer wins too often, they simply make them a JAG lawyer. If a JAG lawyer turns out to be borderline retarded, they make him an ADC lawyer. No lawyer working for the military actually gives a shit about "attorney/client privilege", if you confess to your military lawyer, you might find out he is a tennis buddy with the prosecutor and is telling him everything you say. In my case, the ADC lawyer could not believe we were wasting her time with crap like this. Every single thing was easily rebutted with the most basic check or simple phone call. But, she still asked me to "confess to her so she could evaluate the issues", hahahahahaha. I explained the concept of innocent and declined.

This horseshit of course turned out to be horseshit but for a month of my career, this officer made my life a hell. Every review of the issue proved me innocent of anything, every person they spoke with said as much. Most of all, nothing was ever actually broken and yet this crap kept on going. Eventually, the group commander stepped in and put a stop to this crap. This high quality officer still had my end of tour medal quashed because of this crap. My guys framed the "citation to accompany the award" and presented it to me at my bbq and thanked me for all the hard work. They were proud to serve with me and that was more than enough thanks.

Yeah we get it lefty........................................orange man bad. Go fly your stupid inflatable dolly.

Dudes with no experience always commenting about things they don’t rate to open their sucks about. There are rules in war for a reason and we follow those rules for a reason. When we stop abiding by the rules, we become no better than the ones we are fighting. Blind nationalism is a dangerous thing.

Everyone here who thinks that the Geneva conventions shouldn't be followed because "its war man" is profoundly ignorant. The US is not always going to be only fighting insurgents, I guess the next time we ever have to fight a near-peer adversary you won't think twice about how fair it is that our troops are killed or tortured after surrendering. No, you'd all be clamoring for a Nuremberg 2.0 to hang those responsible while spending half your paycheck on POW/MIA t-shirts.
Hell why not get rid of all of the rules of war? Torture everyone and rape and pillage every town we come across. Literally no downside, its impossible for anything to come back around and bite us right?

Remember though, the first rule of debating on the internet is if you disagree with them, call them communists.

And all the Americans dying, they will never be me, because I am still a leftist with contempt for America."

Yeah so quoting Jarhead and swapping the words around to change the entire meaning to something nonsensical doesn't make you sound profound.

The way you destroy a police force or an army... is to make it unappealing to the best and the brightest.

You do this by making it impossible to do their jobs. And by prosecuting those who try to. By smothering them with rules of engagement. By destroying their traditions. By lowering standards or changing them admit undesireable or inappropriate people and put them in jobs they are not suited for. By making their leadership political, not skills/merit driven. By substituting 'field-skills' training for political indoctrination (let's try eliminating Control and Restraint training... and substitute 8 hours of training of "Dealing with Same Sex Domestic Violence... or eliminating range to talk about "Single Gender Bathrooms." It's happening.

Then have your sheep protest them, call them baby killers, make them ashamed of their uniforms. Harass them at home. Spit on them in airports and call them 'baby killer.' Pour water on them. Assault people in front of them while telling them to stand down... and while having your Baa-Baa types yell at them. Have the media denigrate them at every turn (you know.... your tame media!) Prosecute soldiers and let terrorists go... destroy police for justified use of force... but never, ever prosecute a single gangbanger for shooting a 6 year old girl on Halloween... You know... that stuff.

Where do the best and brightest go? Not there!

Once you have a hollow shell, you can fill it with the weak, the stupid, the easily led, and your own army of, say, brownshirts or ready-to-go Komsomol-types and your politically-reliable thugs. Who could give a crap about the Constitution or the law or your oath... you just do what you are told for political reasons... never questioning a thing.

Why would anyone want to do that??? What would be the point of doing that to our military and police? What would you be trying to transform????

Humm.... Bueller? Bueller?

That your karma title is CSM is a fucking joke. These dudes fucked up and were shitcanned by their own men. Senoir NCOs and Officers have an even greater responsibility to exceture the mission within the legal requirements of the roe. In two of the three cases they were clearly no longer in battle, so heat of the moment arguments mean jack shit. Execution of the mission needs to be precise, and it’s up to Sncos and officers to make it happen. These men did way, way less.
Get the fuck out of here with your deep state never served past spec 4 bullshit

I don’t know much about any of these especially the ones not involving a SEAL. I do believe that Eddie was the subject of over zealous prosecution. The others I have no idea.
What I will say is that any President should stay out of this kind of grandstanding. While the pres is the CIC, he isn’t the one that deals with order and discipline. This undermines the authority of the people doing the actual work. In the same token, members of the military should refrain from doing shit for political reasons. Their job is to carry out the orders given to them by the CIC. If you don’t agree, tough shit.

this was an election year political move and it was a bad one.

Oh and Spec 4? Not even close. I was in marketing. Really. Or at least mostly.

CSM in the 'Hide has nothing to do with the real world. Has to do with this fun little band of misfits. And I am not even sure how I got demoted to CSM. I think it's automatic or part of the software there, Private. But there ya go! And I like those E9 guys. They are fun to drink with. I like them way more than O6's.. who I think are all tools working on their real-estate portfolios, kissing congressional a$$s and trying to get a star. You weren't an 06, were you?

So by your own logic we should never get mad at any US soldier getting tortured or killed right? because thats "the way it is" right? Because that sounds pretty stupid.
"you better be on my side" lol ok tough guy tony. The only side you're on is the one without understanding of nuance.

If we were fighting soldiers and not terrorists things would be different but our latest foes never heard of any rules or decency.

I tumbled 250+ rounds of handgun brass, sorted 750 ish of tumbled mixed 223 brass and cleaned the reloading room.

The same people still think they have the moral high ground and privilege to enforce it. LMAO

I have been on both sides of the USMCJ and find it to be mostly a political play toy of the privileged.

I had an ass for a sqaudran commander, screwed me because he could, in bed with JAG. And the base commander sucked.

All that shit went down the drain when we got a pilot for a new commander.
We had similar interests and outlooks.

The past got wiped off records and I ended up hands off.

Guilt or not outcome is mostly political.

You should have figured that out long ago.

Judging by the amount of likes on my comments vs yours, you suck.

It wasnt right, but it happens.

Thing about Dachau one man stood out and made a difference. He maintained his humanity in an inhumane place. Ditto My Lai. One man swam against the tide.

These were real attrocities though. Not fog of war judgement calls of the moment.

As a sniper, that would be worth crying over. Sure it’s only 10% of the gig, but that 10% is definitely worth crying over.

My Lai, and the .mil justice system, has always stuck in my craw. Not condoning Calley's action, but CMs should have gone further up the chain. According to what I've read, His CO gave orders to kill everything. He was specifically asked, "Women and children?" "Everything."

This is Lt col Felix sparks calling cease fire as his troops slaughter SS guards they were ordered to guard.

He is about to kick the machine gunner in the ass.

This is heroism.

Felix Sparks wants those SS Guards as dead as much his men do but he realizes there is a right way. Gunning them down with a M1919 is not the way.

This is atrocity.

It is more defined than that which Trump pardoned.

None of the soldiers in the unit that liberated Dachau were punished. The event was investigated by the mil.

I think they came to the right decision.

April and May of 1945 was not like the war was winding down. They were still fighting and these were guys that had been in contact almost daily and just came upon the horror of a concentration camp.

I remember a guy by name of Gervasio jerking off on one of his platoon mates pillow. Weird dudes.

I lived in open squad bay my entire time in the fleet. I dont even recall a bathroom stall with a door.

Most realistic thing in the film to me was the stupid Football game in gas masks.

Thats the kind of dumb idea someone in charge would come up with.

Right. War SHOULD be anything goes. The enemy is trying to fucking kill you. Kill them first, by any means necessary.

Here's what I've been saying forever. The only way to win a war is to make your enemy want to surrender.

How do you make someone who has zero morals or respect for life surrender? You break their will and kill everyone.

We don't have the stomach to fight in a level that would actually demoralize and terrify our enemy.

If we literally went village to village and just indescriminately killed every male, we would have been there a few years and killed all the fighters and will to fight for several generations.

On the flip side, there is no way you could ever ask our moral and ethical service members to commit the acts that it would take to truly win and take all the fight from the other side.

for what it's worth,

court marshals were dismissed by Patton. Nobody went through a trial. Patton felt the germans had it coming.

the "guards" who were at the camp were mostly foreign 'waffen ss' combat troops, not Allgemeine guards. Most were wounded in the infirmary and unable to evacuate with the real death camp personnel who had fled the day before. They and a few low ranking officers were deliberately left holding the bag and told not to release anyone until the Americans arrived to "take possession of the camp and inmates" Some of these people were no doubt camp-related bloody bastards who deserved to die. Others were legitimate soldiers, dropped off there temporarily while recovering from combat wounds, when they were lined up against the wall and machinegunned.

I have a serious question for those who are opposed. You raise some good points that make a man think. At least me.

What do you know of the cases beyond the news that the rest of us dont? There is always another level of detail that most dont know. What did these guys do that was against the Geneva Convention? Not just our LDMF ROE written by pussies in suits and not those with a brain who still want to win a war decisively?

And yes, I read some of the posts and totally agree that a team can make a pact to burn someone and do it. Have seen it happen. In the fire service to a top end guy, as well as in the hospital.

I think these trials stunk of political hack jobs.

I also noted that the top Pentagon guys noted they met with the president and told him what they thought. I did not see anywhere that they advised him to not do this. If there is other info, reporting on this, I will be happy to read and learn more.

And I will agree with Lash, saying what some should say, think, or do, is total BS.

Are we basing cool guy points on likes? Isn’t that what millennials do? Aren’t we supposed to hate millennials? Shit I’m confused. Remember kids, paddle your own canoe and don’t think that you’re right just because others applaud you in an echo chamber.

Just the other day I heard a millennial girl say she would "shoot the deer in the school yard and put it in her freezer." Maybe you guys are raising your millennials wrong. Besides they aren't the ones who have been selling freedom for the illusion of security for the last 100 years. Our current position belongs to a couple generations that have died off already. Not a generation that can barely vote.

A generation raised by the television, and taught to worship the holy science. Now we expect them to believe the scientists and TV are selectively lying to them.

Damiens book is a very Worthwhile read...

After Hitlers “These Men Are Dangerous”’ order that all Commandos and SAS be executed... many were. For the SAS, the war went on for some time After 1945.

Sent kind of a message, didn’t it???

Im going to have to break my silence on this one. Here we go...

With regard to the cultural context of the last 10 plus years.. Your reasonings be damned. When you take a side, you will be guilty of all aspects of that sides perceived wrongdoings in the eyes of the people who decided those injustices are what is most distasteful to them. No getting around that, and that’s not an argument for pacifism. I’m ok with that. It’s the way it’s always been. That being said..

Lefty’s, suck it. Way to go POTUS

@M8541Reaper, your not the only one with credentials. You sure are angry though..?

Holy shit... I’m out. Y’all enjoy your war crimes.

Every unit has a guy who breath smells just like the commander's nut sack. That guy is unable to form an opinion without first sucking up to management and taking the side of the person in power he most wants to ingratiate himself/herself too.

In every case pardoned by Trump, there is misconduct on the part of the prosecutor, questionable investigating and in every case, the "witnesses" are inclined to outright lie in order to enrich or embellish themselves, then you try and compare what are in all three cases, the actions of individuals who made snap battlefield decisions while actively engaged in combat to massacres of civilians it shows a certain small minded inability to reason or think clearly. This is yet another example of "never Trumpers" comparing apples to watermelons.

I remember Clayton Hartwig, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Iowa_turret_explosion Unwilling to admit that improperly stored, old and dangerous gunpowder caused 47 needless deaths, the Navy and it's NCIS idiots fabricated a story of homosexual love and revenge and pinned their misconduct on an innocent man. They pilloried the man, who was dead and unable to defend himself, from a modest family who could not afford to spend millions to fight the Navy.
