Prime 6 Creedmoor using Sierra 107's

Did anyone else notice that Prime has decided to go with the Sierra 107 SMK's instead of the 105 Berger Hybrids? I pre-ordered a case and have been doing work ups with my own loads with the 105's. For those of you using the 107's, is there an advantage to using the 107's?

I have several 6mms that use the same exact load for the 105 hybrid and 107 smk.

That said, I am sorry to hear that they are going with the smk. The 105s are way better for anything hunting related. I was hoping that I could hang up my reloading hat..

I missed the announcement, it might be in my email SPAM folder.
We shipped the first barrel with a PRIME designated chamber out the door to John Fillman about 2 weeks ago. I have not heard back from him on it with actual 6Creed Prime yet.

When we did internal testing with it the performance was incredible using the 6 Creed PRIME brass and a wide range of bullets. At the time I didn't know what bullet PRIME was going to be using so we tried several options with the reamers, including the 107's.

It's not my first choice of bullet for 6's but it does shoot very well in that cartridge. I'm anxious to hear from John how the barrel shoots with turnkey ammo instead of what I loaded at home against a drawn up spec. My gut says it's going to be solid.

I load both in my 6CM. The Berger 105 shot exceptionally well through the Krieger barrel. The 107 MK nearly as well. I couldn't find the Berger for a while so I bought a supply of of MKs and that's now what I shoot. The MK is also substantially cheaper. Taking them to Arena next weekend to try out their 2100m range.

All of you that are shooting the SMK what reamer specs were used on your rifle? I too am in the boat of getting excited about the factory ammo and ordering a pile of 105 bullets only to find they are using a different bullet later on.

99% sure im running .183 freebore and its worked for every 105, 107/8 and 110 bullet I've tried. .183 is also what hornady designed their factory ammo to work with.

You are right, the Berger 105 VLD Hunting are lethal on game.
I been running Copper Creek 107 ammunition in my tac rifle and very pleased with it. I look forward to a comparison.
