was doing some searching on an unrelated item and found an older thread on the PTG stealth DBM, and a special price for $75.00.

still is listed today on PTG's site for $75.00, which is the best price i've found on them even with using coupon codes and such, needless to say one will be coming my way in a few days.

Just thought i'd pass that along if one is on the fence about this one or DBM in general.

don't know personally on the HS, but as advertised, through reviews, and what most folks here and elsewhere says -

some fitting / inletting required, to match the badger M5 inletting.

some say they can do it in their garage, some say better to give it to those that do this every day for a living.

i guess if your used to tinkering with rifles, it should be no big deal to do it at home. i for one will take a look at things when i get it and see what's involved with a choate tactical stock.

I'm not looking to take a Dremel to my stock, I'd just let a gunsmith do it in that case.

Most inletting is best left to the pros, which is only like $60-75. I'm more interested in if this bottom metal is a P.O.S becuause its a LOT cheaper than the competition. Anyone have experience with them let me know if its worth it cause otherwise ill just spend the $210 on a cdi for my savage.

What bottom metal comes with a mag? Cdi and accurate mag and badger don't come with a mag and they are all well over $200. Can you tell me which comes with a mag for a savage?

If your looking at Badger bottom metal, it should come with an AI factory (not a copy of) 5 round magazine. This is true for 308 and 300/338. If you are seeing Badgers sold without the AI mag, somebody has taken the mag out to sell separately. Look for a new vendor ;-)

The over run of Stealth bottom metal is from a IMI contract . I over run them so folks can get a affordable unite from time to time . The contractors order about 3000 per year for Remington Rifles and I run 1000 extra . I will have a new type cumming in a Colt Tactical that has a little different trigger loop , . Both are machined from a Remington M5 footprint drawing sent to me by Remington Military . The real deal though is our new bolt in BDL unit drop in and go . I have complete Long Action unit on sale for Lapua mag , Ultra mag and Win. mag type rounds with Accurate mag boxes for $199. Just state the type of Magazine needed at time of order . Shorts will be ready in Stealth or flush cut BDL bolt in unites soon . These will use Accuracy International mag's and will be a nice 3.068 long magazines the longest mathematical mag that can be installed in a short Remington BDL footprint . I see folks always say , this unit must be flawed or of poor quality . Well I run the Stealth and PTG flush cut unites you buy on the same machines , using the same Aircraft quality material that I run Five other private label Detachable's That you all pay a lot more for . Ours are just over runs that I try and sell to make having a detachable affordable . Thanks Dave

Wait, so you are going to be making a short action DBM that fits a regular BDL inlet, that takes AI magazines?

I'm assuming the short action BDL inlet metal will take AI AE Mk. 1 mags, or AICS magazines?

Yes we just finished a short Winchester , Savage , Weatherby Mk , Std Weatherby ( Howa ), Remington 783 and a short Remington 700 BDL Proto types that bolts in factory inlets that uses a AI single stack. The Remington and Winchester production orders are on the machines now and the others are following . Pictures of the new models will be on our web site this week. See our web site for weekly additions to our Magazines and Bottom metal.

I've got a couple of the PT&G DBM bottom metal assemblies here - they would be solid deals at twice the money, and are a complete steal at the going price.

I ordered mine last week, should see it tomorrow or Wednesday. A friend ordered one a while back, very well made with a nice finish. For $75 bucks I sure wasn't going to pass it up. I figured if they can make tooling bottom metal shouldn't be a problem. Lol

Ordered one over the weekend along with a 5round mag. Got a nice call from a representative tonight to let me know the mag was backordered but when it was due in and that they would ship it then. Not to just get in the M40 stock inletted. Can't wait.

got mine yesterday, comes with the pillars and mounting bolts

no "stealth" engraved in it but who cares.

nice piece of work, hope to get some pictures of the diy inletting soon.

worth every penny so far, nice finish on it.

though it looks heavy / bulky, it is actually surprisingly lightweight

This may be just what I'm looking for. A true "drop-in" DBM for my 5R. :)
Tag for updates.

Yes the bolt in short BDL and short Model 70 take the Accuracy international original single stack and the long Actions take the Accurate , Accuracy and Alpha single stack . The Winchester Picture of the bolt in is on our Site . Monday we will have pic's showing the plug and play steps ( 5 Minute change out ) and prices . I converted my 22/250 , 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 Win over and they cycle like glass. If you have some on order give me a call , I have 5 extra on my desk. Thank You Dave

I have run one for about 18 months on my competition rifle. I have no complaints.

Uncle Psy

These were up for $75 and I was lucky enough to get on the deal. They then went up to $99 and now looks like they are back to the reg price.

Its like finding ammo online, if you see it buy it or loose it.

Hopefully they will get a new order and "overrun" it again and pass that on the the Hide guys.

Finally finished installing my bottom metal today. Looks great and works perfectly. I haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet but I ran three 10 round mags through it without an issue. Quality product in my opinion, wouldn't hesitate to buy another but I don't have anymore bolt guns.

I am about 3 days away from finishing a large run . I will again have over run short M5 and long M4 stealth on sale . I know some of the other companies get pissed at me for selling the units at Arms manufacturers prices but I have always tried to make building a rifle affordable for the Gunsmith and end user. Hell that's why our premium reamers are $138 on average and the others are $200 or more. Its all about whats left in a customers wallet that lets him buy more . Thanks Dave

300 aacsd blkout done! I had to get an accurate mag though I didnt realize that the aics .223 mags were in such demand
