Night Vision Pvs-14 with 1.11 halo

It is a little high if you never intend to put it on a rifle. That being said, asking if it's worth having cant be answered with the info you gave. Are the rest of the specs good, image quality and price????

Is this a pvs-14 worth having? From everything I can find a 1.11 halo is pretty bad. I will not be mounting this on a rifle.

Are you sure its a 1.11 Halo? Tell us more about this PVS 14? What brand is it? how old is it? does the Data sheet show a 1.11? Just about ever tube sold on the commercial market today is .9 or under as all tubes above 1.0 are siphoned off to become FOM tubes.

I got the Itt Pinnacle gen 3 autogated Pvs-14 from ready made resources. Luminous-1868, Radiant-207, Halo-1.11, Ebi-.53, Resolution-64, FOM-1792, STN-28. If you all think I will have problems with these then I will return them. I needed something fast and couldn't wait on 4 week lead times.

Ok this is interesting a 1.11 Halo on the commercial market is rare I have never actually gotten one in before. Now that being said, a 1.11 HALO isn't going to cause you a "problem" per say. Its simply going to be a little more glow around street lights. Have you taken the 14 out and looked through them in an urban environment? Does the Halo around the street lights you see, seem excessive to you? The other specs are fine. As for needing something fast we have three flavors of PVS-14s in stock at a given time.

ICT Labs PVS-14RC

Know anyone you can compare this to? If you're in Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia area or don't mind driving to Ft. Lewis I can show you mine to compare and I have the build sheet so you can see the difference on paper as well as compare them side by side.

I went with an OMNI7 hand select ITT Night Enforcer. Better than milspec as I set my own specs on it. Signal to noise is THE most important spec, and if you have that really high and others look good, then it may not be so bad.

I had to wait about a month, month and a half maybe for such high specs, but it was well worth the wait as I got 'em nearly maxed, all but resolution (which I hear is rare to have high S/N and high resolution together). It's blemish free (all but two TINY specs outside center, and you have to look for 'em). TNVC took great care of me and even called me to make sure the one they were sending was satisfactory to me BEFORE they sent it out. I have considerable experience with 14's and the ones I have now are the best I've ever used in the 12 years I've used 'em.

Now looking at my build sheet, it says mine is .88 and 1.25 is the max for halo. So 1.0 wouldn't be THAT bad, considering everything else is really good.

Thanks for the offer but I'm afraid that's out of the question. I'm won't be back in country for three more days. The pvs-14's were supposed to be delivered on the 12th but they got there on the 6th. I only have a week to try them out and return them if I'm not happy so I had my buddy send me the data sheet and he is checking them out for me but he has no prior experience with nvg's so I'm out of luck there.

I really wanted to have them when I get home so I can play with my Tavor with my OTAL. I'm torn about sending them back before I get home to check them out or just saying the hell with it and keeping them??

Like you said, the other specs seem to be decent so maybe they won't be that bad???

I've seen a few tubes with a 1.0 halo, and some older ones from L3 that had a high FOM, but still had a slightly over 1.0 halo.... Image quality was not bad. The ITT tubes were better, that's true... but every tube is different.
