Is there an industry standard length of threads for 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 muzzle threading?

I've inquired to couple suppressor manufacturers, and it seems like most muzzle threads for 5.56 and 7.62 cans are 0.60-0.65" in length.

Would be any problems threading a muzzle a bit shorter (say 0.40-0.50") than spec for a given suppressor? Maybe cause issues with the cans, or off-the-shelf muzzle brakes, thread protectors, etc?

Thanks!

In general, most centerfire autoloading "AR type" rifles have 5/8" long threads, give or take 0.025" or so.
That is by-far the most common thread length spec I run into at least.
Now, some muzzle brakes have considerably longer threads inside them.
You don't generally need to cut the barrel threads as long as the inside of the muzzle device though.
Sometimes it is quite desireable to have more room before the blast baffle or the first set of ports for gas to expand more before it hits that first surface.

Rimfire changes the game.
There are many 22 rimfire 1/2-28 threaded suppressors setup for 10mm barrel thread length spec.
