question for a DR or lawyer

I have a family member that is bat shit crazy.. Seriously she is off her rocker. she already had serious mental issues her DR's have her on prescription's like percasets for years on top of that she is drinking like a drunken sailor...She needs to be committed not just for rehab but she is one of those people that pretends to be sick to get sympathy and now she is faking M.S. After seeing her today this girl needs serious help she has 3 kids and im worried about them but legally there is nothing i can do at this point.. Her DR's have written her off . i don't know what to do about this situation don't know if there is any thing to do She is in Pennsylvania just out side philly.. any suggestions

oh a little more info she was involuntarily committed at the age of 16 her mother was involuntarily committed and her brother was also twice..

1st, very sorry about your situation. It's unpleasant.
2nd, any Dr or attorney giving advise in a public forum might not be providing advice worth acting on.
Pay for the office consult with your local registered member of the state bar..

yes I know.. but she really needs to get off the opiates that her DR's keep throwing at her and get the proper meds to balance her out. her husband is a fucking ass hat too he is diagnosed bi polar by several DR's and I suspect his is up to no good with his step daughters.. If I actually find this to be the case........ill leave it at that. its a very bad situation up there any one with real solid advice is much appreciated you can pm me if needed. They have several hand guns in the home and a few months ago her ass hat husband took out a $500k life insurance policy on her and he is basically shoving pills and booz on her.. Its to a point where I cant stand on the side lines any more but I don't know what I can and cant do

is this a lawyer situation or a medical situation or both

You can consider writing her doctor a SHORT letter briefly stating you are witness to daily behaviors of drug addiction, alcoholism , violence, child neglect/abuse and all the other dysfunctional behaviors you mention here.
Then on the last line mention you will be sending a copy of the letter to your states medical licensing board.

Then DO It. Trust me, this will get his attention to give this woman proper care and to have her evaluated by proper specialists (psychiatry , addictionology).

If he is treating her properly he has nothing to worry about you sending that letter to the state. If not then he will have a lot to worry about!

Welcome to what cops deal with daily. Numerous times, with numerous families. Every fucking day.
1) Report the situation the children are in to whatever they call child protective services there. They SHOULD interview the children, can't promise they can do anything though.
2) Being diagnosed bi-polar is easy and it is a badge of honor. Every time you talk to them, they tell you they are bi-polar, as it provides an excuse for poor behavior, plus they get free mood stabilizers.
3) Hydrocodone is the new aspirin, fucking dip shit doctors prescribe it like candy.

Sorry to tell you, She doesn't want help, he doesn't want help.
I'm guessing they are living off Uncle Sugar with all medical bills paid by same, though there are functioning dopers out there.
