Are there any chances in the atacr line up that makes atacr discontinued and replaced with atacr enhanced model? Glass still the same? I get mixed review from ppl stating nxs glass is better then the atacr? Im looking for a 5-25×56 and dont want it outdated if theres a reason behind it. Thanks

What?

No, the atacr has two generations, both are far better then the nxs. gen 1 does not have digilum and has less elevation on one rotation of the turret and is in sfp only. Then they made a new "enhanced model" with a few new features. and they offer the new model in ffp and sfp. glass is excellent and is the same in both generations.

Cant commit if a new NF scope line up is coming that exceeds the current ATACR lineup in quality but I will commit NXS glass not better than ATACR glass

ATACR glass is definitely better than NXS. Especially noticeable at distance, full magnification, low-light, and looking into shadows. I have the early model ATACR 5-25 SFP and the 7-35x. I wish I could update all my old NXS...

As previously stated, ATACR glass is most definitely superior to NXS glass. That being said, we come up against the law of diminishing returns here. While technically "inferior", NXS glass is still excellent inmho and may serve you quite well while keeping more green in your wallet. If money is no object then by all means, ATACR all the way. My biggest complaint with the NXS line is the lack of FFP availability.

Thanks for the input guys, i did loke my nxs, but mile high had a really good deal on a new atacr demo i couldnt pass up. Overnighted that puppy. Just purchased the razor gen 2 a week ago and was pretty disappointed. It almost looked like my pst had clearer glass.

Must have been something wrong with the optic or your eyes cause the Gen 2 Razor competes very well with some very well known and expensive glass... Probably the best bang for the buck on the market today, it's only downfall is it's a porker....

Yup and it's poop stain color for those wanting scope aesthetics to coincide with the rest of the build. Other than those two short comings (one of which doesn't mean anything) it's a great optic. Though my rifle is 17lbs with the SN-3 and i'd almost convinced myself to sac up and grab another 13oz, but i'm currently hunting with that thing too...not for too much longer hopefully.

You'll always have some variations in batches of glass but when you get into the top tier it's very consistent and would most likely would never be noticed except maybe by a very well trained eye or measuring equipment.

I'm certainly one who appreciates the finer things and I have never ever been disappointed with NF glass. This includes the NXS lines and the older 3.5-15 F1's which I still have about a half dozen of. Their glass is great, and by great I don't mean a little beyond "serviceable", I mean it's fucking great glass. Resolution is always top notch and if you want to see what I mean put a good clip on NVD in front of it.

More than one person has told me the glass is better on the ATACR 7-35x F1 than the ATACR 5-25 F1. Any truth to that?

The glass is the reason to consider the 7-35, not the extra magnification. Mostly noticeable in unusual lighting conditions like sunrise/set, shadows. Additionally the 7-35 does have 120 MOA total elevation, not the 100 that the website states. That was what tipped me over from the 25x.

I would not be too quick to dis NXS glass. A month ago I had for 3 days both a NXS 8-32x56 mildot and a Hensold 4-24x56 Mildot to evaluate. I looked through both on many occasions (same mag) in different conditions, dawn, dusk, mirage, etc and try as I might to convince myself of the superiority of the Hensolt, I could not. A couple other people had occasional looks and same report - a toss up. I also have a FFP ATACR and maybe, I stress maybe, a tad better glass. The ATACR was $1000 more than the 8-32 NXS. I am a SFP guy so there is not a $1000 difference between NXS and the ATACR to me. Hensoldt went back, NXS on my 300WM. My range only goes out to 1550 yards but the NXS is more than adequate.
