I think the demand could be there, and people are hesistant to buy QB's right now because there isn't an option unless you just get one custom made. I think someone found something that works with the 9mm. This is all good stuff though, the eform1 can industry is blowing up, if it already hasnt' been.

This has NOTHING to do with QuietBore. They sent me the 22LR Ti kit to test and review here on SH and it was a big hit and worked great. Brought a ton of sales through their site they told me. So much so, they sent me their 45 kit to test/review. Unfortunetly it only came with 1 SS blast baffle and the rest aluminum even though they were all supposed to be SS. That was the beginning of Fall 2019. Im still waiting on the correct thread attachment for the 9mm PCC carbine test/review I said I would do. Its been what 6 months and still nothing... I inquired about Ti parts and was told they just arent setup to do anything in Ti except for the 22lr cups. Because of that I set out to find someone else that would make the parts.
Its a completely different CNC machine shop that is making these parts and will be selling them. Ive just provided the input, wants/needs of all you Hiders and full testing to ensure everything works and sounds good.
If you buy the QB 5.56/30 tube and spacer only for like $50 you can then have all these other parts about to be up for sale in SS and Ti to finish your kit....And they will all be top notch, quality stuff. SS, Ti, QD, Self timing QD brake attachments, etc..
A lot of non-machinists assume you put a block in the machine and press go...
Making one part might not be that difficult, but gearing up for manufacturing in any quantity is another story!
I make one-off prototypes for a living. Yeah I can make anything; but efficiently? Probably not.....I don't have to worry about tool wear, repeatable fixturing, optimizing speeds and feeds, etc. Let alone making sure that part fits for the wide range of tolerances QBs tubes might come with.

Has anyone found a tube that uses the same thread as a commonly found manufacturers adapters and caps?
For example has anyone made a tube and baffles that will work with silencerco end caps and mounts?

I would think a 5.7 would be quite a bit of pressure for a .22 can. Its a pretty small volume in that lil tube.
There are several 22 cans that are rated to 5.7 actually

Looks like UPS might have lost my .22 "solvent trap".... I know its not technically a suppressor until its drilled out but its 95% there and even includes the drill jig. If it were to fall into the wrong hands I could be implicated in something. Laser engraved with my info and serial number..... im sure ill be approved here in the next few days so thats going to suck if I end up getting a replacement "solvent trap" but have one floating around out there god knows where with my info and serial on it....

Would it be possible to run 300 subs through this with either full Ti or 1 SS and rest Ti?
I dont know but probably. My factory 45 can with SS cups is rated to 300blk subsonic

sorry man that sucks. I’d consider filing a police report. That would at least give you some protection if anyone did anything with it or It turned up somewhere.

Yes, I bought one and it is way too heavy and the overall fit and finish wasn't that great to I sold it.
Just buy the 30cal tube and spacer...then buy the Ti cups and new end caps making it WAY lighter and better than their config
I was actually going to do that today, turns out UPS finally got a scan on it, saying it was found in a trailer in Boise, ID..... I live in NC so I am trying to get them to overnight it. Their fault and they admitted it. Asked QB to refund shipping and get themselves a refund from UPS. UPS is not getting paid on my watch for this tom foolery.
Im honestly just glad it was found, the idea of my "solvent trap" being stolen by some low life sorter at a hub and used in a crime or some such was worrisome.
Anyone that does Laser engraving. An of the places you mention could apply. You need to check who does it in your area.
I plan on doing this but I thought the first titanium cup kit only fit the 45 tube? It looks like the ID and OD of the 30 and 45 tube are different.
If you've been following this thread, we announced that both 45 AND 30 cal parts are being made... 45 are just the first that got finished and posted up for sale. 30 cal cups and end caps will be ready for sale and put up on that same website in the next week....
Get your tube and spacer and efile your Form 1. By the time you get approval you should have all your parts.
What's the worry about ordering with engraving included? You can engrave anything your heart desires on a metal tube. If said tube happens to be made into a suppressor, and the correct info happens to be already engraved, you're ahead of the game.
One reason would be if it is lost in the mail, somebody else gets it, drills it out and causes a ruckus. Assuming you filed a form 1 with said SN it could be tied to you and have implications
Got it. I'd do it the same way if I do it again, but can see why someone else might not. Doesn't seem any different than shipping a can or firearm for service work.
I think it said somewhere in this thread that 400-600 was best for Ti so it doesn't heat up and harden.
If one were running the 45 can using direct thread with no booster. Would they need a spacer and 8 cups or could they run 10 cups?
On a fixed barrel like a PCC you can run all 10 cups. That's how it comes.
I ordered my kit on January 18th and received it Feb 16th. I was told 2 weeks. Then I was told 3 weeks when two weeks came. Then It finally shipped.
I opened the box, and the engraving is wrong.
I emailed them Thursday but didn't hear anything Friday. With the long weekend I'm assuming I wont hear anything until Tuesday at the soonest.

No response Wednesday. Now a week after , still haven't been able to correct the engraving. Are they on vacation?

Yes. Not in that picture on that prototype. But the final product looks identical to the QB.
As per the order page when you placed your order, 4-6 weeks. They dont tool up a CNC to run off 1 kit at a time. Need enough orders to run a full bar at a minimum.
On padoms first post offering up the website to order the 45 cups he said 4 weeks. Anyone expecting them before mid march didn't read well.
Anyone shot .22 out of the 9 or .45 can yet? Interested to see if the volume would make for for the larger bore in terms of sound reduction.
I have and I don’t notice any difference. Maybe it’s because the larger 9mm hole negates the added volume but I have no idea.
Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Seems like 9mm would have the same effect through a QB .45 can since the bullet to bore diameter is about the same ratio, though other commercial cans might differ due to design. Looks like multiple form 1's and cans it is!
I’m just guessing but I don’t think there would be any difference shooting a 9mm through a 45 can. I would get a dedicated can for the 22 just based on maintenance and how nasty the 22 is. I also have the TI baffles so I can soak them in whatever chemical without damaging them rather than the aluminum baffles.
I would never want to shoot 22lr through anything other than a dedicated 22 can. They are dirty as hell. Wouldnt want that lead all over my pistol or rifle can baffles
