Rifle Scopes Racking my brain: Vortex 1-4 PST or SWFA 1-4

I have read numerous reviews on both, and based on the price point I went to buy the vortex and after looking through it I couldn't do it, then I made the mistake of looking through the more expensive SWFA, now I can't decide which is a better option for 3 gun. My goal is to find a scope that will allow fast target aquisition at close targets and the ability to do hold over or quick range for shooting 500 yard stages. I love the idea of the vortex, like the glass and I love the reticle, but it seems so small and hard to read the hash marks.... could someone give me some insight as to what might be the recomened option. I read great reviews on the SWFA but hear the thick posts are a disadvantage. I need help I am lost.
