Radio recommendations

Hmm I thought the other cables included with the HX350S were for programming, but I don't find that kind of connector on the radio. Nor can I find any instructions for programming an HX350S. So I guess the cables must be for something else.

Any suggestions on where to look/how to identify the cables I received? There is a DB9 "computer" connector at one end, and a 4-pin connector at the other end that looks like it was meant for the headset/external mic connector of a radio.
That hx350s didn’t come preprogrammed?

And that cable is probably not for programming anything. Rather it’s probably for connecting a computer to a radio, useful for a variety of things. A visit to an avid ham would probably show something like that in use.

And the site @Defender3 mentioned would probably be very helpful.

I was thinking that too. More likely that code-text stuff, I can't think of the term for it now. But the size of that plug, it probably isn't even for any kind of mobile radio, at least not a "walkie-talkie."
