I am loading for .30-06 210 gr bullets out of 22 inch barrel

.308 175 gr SMK out of 24 inch barrel

.338 Lapua mag with 300 grain Scenars out of 25 inch barrel

I have seen the Ramshot powders everywhere and was thinking of using the Tac, Big Game and Magnum to load these rounds.
What are peoples experiences with these powders? Are there other powders I should be looking at from Ramshot?

Re: Ramshot Powders

The only one I've tried is TAC in both my AR and LR308. I've got excellent result (at least for me) with .5" and less with 52grSMKs and .3" with 168gr and 175gr SMKs.

It's burn rate is right there with Varget (which I also use and like), so loads are very similar. Easier to measure, if that's your thing. It MAY not be quite as temperature stable as Varget but I haven't been able to verify one way or the other with a chronograph yet. My loads and groups didn't suffer during the winter but I'm in the Seattle area and it doesn't get that cold. Have to wait and see what happens this summer.

Very clean burning.

Hope that helps.

Re: Ramshot Powders

I've also heard lots of good stuff about the Tac. My father-in-law just bought 16 pounds of it, so I'm going to get plenty of experience with it in the next month or so.

Re: Ramshot Powders

Just got a pound of TAC and 43 grains with a 168 smk is a 1/2 moa load in my rifle. It throws NICE. I dont know if Im ready to give up the RL 15 yet but maybe after I load some for the M1A.

Re: Ramshot Powders

Have used Big Game with .308/175, start at around 42gr and work up. I found my node at around 44gr. Magnum, you can fill the case, accurate but slow. Hunter wasn't around then, but it works great with the .260 and 142SMK, might be a good powder for the .30-'06 and 210; definitely try Hunter and Magnum for the .338.

Hard to find in my locale, or I'd be using it more.

Re: Ramshot Powders

I see in there list that magnum is a little slower then RE22.

Could it compare to the velocities that Montana Marine is getting? Im hoping it would be close or just as good for the heavier bullits in the 06 case.
