i have come to understand that various supplements dissolve quicker and thus digest quicker than each other; e.g. comparing normal(?) whey protein to an isolate form? i then started to wonder how this compares to eating various forms of meat.

can someone provide a quantitative response to quench my appetite for knowledge?

Re: rate of digestion for various forms of protein?

their are other factors involved like how healthy your digestive system is , how well your body tolerates differant foods.
Typicaly Whey isolate is about the fastest but their are some that are predigested like "pepto pro" and lean beef aminos.

generaly speeking whey isolate is fastest followed my egg white then whey concentrate and whole egg and after that your in the time frame od the length of time it take to digest real food and you are better of just doing that.

Casine protein takes arealy long time to digest and thats why its recomended to use pre bed so that the long digestion keep feeding protein into the system.

BUT , other factors like what you eat with your protein make a differance , if you drink a whey shake with a couple tablspoons of peanut better in it the fat will slow down the digestion and absorbtions of the protein , same goes for adding fiber

thank you for the response and sharing your knowledge on the subject. your response has me asking new questions.

i get the subjective results you mention but could you provide a rough timeline of how long average bodies use a whey protein source and say a natural red meat? i.e. after xx amount of hours our body has basically extracted all it wants/can from whey.

adding fiber to slow down digestion seems counter intuitive to someone green on the subject. soluble or insoluble fiber has a greater effect on slowing down protein absorption?

Not sure about the time line , I remember reading somplace that whey isolate was fully digested in 1-1.5 hrs , egg whites were about 2hrs , beef was 2-4 hrs and casine was said to be 5-7 hrs.

Thats all very subjective though due to everybody body being differant , I know i can eat a 12oz top sirloin cooked medium rare to the rare side by itself and be starving 3 hrs later but i can eat 15 egg whites with two tablespoons of coconut oil and be full for 3-4 hrs , so alot depends on what you eat with it and how your body processes it. I eat alot of yogurt and rink raw milk along with taking digestive enzymes and having a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day all to help digestions.

If you can east every 2-3 hrs a balanced meal such as 8oz chicken , 3 boiled eggs whole and 10 ounces pine apple (50g protein , 12g fat , 30g carbs) will hold most average sized men for that time

For the fiber , i rely strictly on dark green veggies and fiberous fruit like pineapple and apples for that. one of my favorite meals is 8oz chicken diced small , a medium golden apple diced small all mixed in 3 cups fresh baby spinach topped with 1 teaspoon coconut oil , 1 teaspoon red palm oil and 1 teaspoon red wive mixed together for a dressing (45g protein , 18g fat , 25g carbs) and that will hold me over for 3+hrs when dieting its nice to be full for that long on restricted calories
