Powermac, wow,wow,wow......you can get any part factory or custom that's made for other rifles!! BULL$ HIT! Find me long action detachable bottom metal for the tikka 695... Didn't think so please go to the back of the bus. They are only just coming out with very few options for tikka. As guys find out Tikka's will out shoot factory Remington who are living on their name. There will be more bought and customized. So the aftermarket products will increase, but for now we are still in the dark! Unless you know some thing I don't????? Please link me up.......
Good you call bullshit on what i write.
Since we were actually discussing a Tikka T3 and not the discontinued M695/595 series, maybe read my post a bit better, as these two actions are not the same.
Anyway for the 695 the closet you come is the extended magazines form Midwest gunworks.
To get it to feed from the popular AICS mags, the 595/695 action would need to be milled out, as the AICS feed lips are too wide for it to work, without mods.
There was a guy that's a machinist, over on LRH forums that is working on making one though, but more then that i don't know.
As for the T3 you can indeed get any of the popular accessories you do get for the REM 700 just less variation.
Tikka T3 DBM :
CDI precision.
Roedale.
Alutek.
Third Eye Tactical.
Tikka performance.
Lumley arms.
For long Action there is only 2 options that i know of at least.
CDI precision.
Roedale.
The CDI version is probably the best unit, as it uses AICS mags and the inlet is interchangeable with the Short action inlet, if the need should ever arise. Also in my experience CDI's products are of very good quality.
The Roedale version uses Roedales own mags, and the Voere mags for they're LBW rifles also fits, but i'm quite certain they are a pain to get hold of in the US.
Roedale also produces a custom bolt stop that's ideal for use with SA AICS mags, or you just want to be able to run standard Tikka LA mags in a SA caliber.
Bolt shrouds and bolt handles you find in a lot of flavors, as they're mostly cosmetic i'm not gonna pay much attention to them and a google search will give you a lot of options find what you think looks the best/ fits you the best and buy it, simple as that.
The shroud is a part to change in my opinion, as cheap plastic parts really has nothing to do on a bolt action rifle, and with extreme cold temperatures, witch we sometimes experience here in the cold north, they crack rather easily.
My favorite shroud is the Alutek and Roedale versions, but each to they're own as this opinion is just based on cosmetics.
My favored Bolt handle is the Roedale unit, although mostly cosmetic they are better ergonomically designed, gives you extra leverage, and is easier to use with gloves.
The cheap aluminum recoil lug that comes with the Tikka's are a part that should be changed, as they tend to be deformed by recoil over time, this is especially apparent in more powerful calibers, used in stocks without bedding.
In the standard configuration the Lumley arms titanium lug is a good option.
But the normal Remington style recoil lugs are really a superior option, a decent machinist/gunsmith can make one.
A Rem lug can be made to work also.
Chad Dixon's lugs are surely the nicest one as far as cosmetics goes, and i assume the quality is above and beyond most else.
Trigger options for the T3:
Sako TRG trigger.
Bix'n Andy.
Barnard.
Jard.
The old model 'universal' CG extreme triggers also works with the T3, although they would be hard to find.
There's also a option for buying a replacement trigger springs for the original T3 trigger from
Trigger Springs|Aluminum Pillar|Pillar Bedding|Gunsmithing, to reduce the pull weight if desired.
A relatively inexpensive option.
As far as triggers go the TRG trigger is the best option for a 'hard use' tactical rifle. The only catch with these are that you're stock /chassis will usually need a bit of inletting for proper clearance of the unit. The TRG safety is also functional when installed.
The Bix'n Andy triggers are really superb for a precision rifle, they're made one at a time on precision CNC equipment in Austria, and of very high quality.
Popular with the European benchrest crowd.
Reliable pull weight from 1 oz to 3-4 pounds depending on rifle model, they are sent with extra springs to increase the pull weight, but the heaviest weight springs needs to be bought separately as they usually comes with 2 springs when bought, the Tikka/Sako version comes standard with springs adjustable from 1.7 to 42.5 oz.
The trigger pull weight is consistent within 1/30 oz, and the trigger pull is better then on my Anschutz 64 Sporter Benchrest.
The trigger unit is sealed and will be more reliable then fx a Jewell, i have these on a couple of rifles and i don't baby my guns, never had a single issue with the triggers, never have i heard of anyone that has either.
Still if you're dragging you're rifle through mud and sand on a daily basis the TRG unit will be a safer bet.
The downside to these is the price, here they costs 550$, they are cheaper bought in other countries though.
Those are the only two trigger i have experience with that's available for the T3, although Barnard generally makes good products so i'd buy one with confidence.
Tikka scope mounting options:
The Spuhr TRG ISMS mounts directly in the T3 dovetail and is probably the best option available, although you should probably contact Håkan directly and ask, as the ejection port angles on the TRG and T3 are'nt identical, and the standard TRG mount usually will need 1/10 inch clearance milled in the action for optimal performance as far as i know.
But Håkan can answer this better then me.
If you want a picatinny rail there's a few options:
Near mfg.
EGW standard and HD version.
Roedale.
Recknagel.
Era-Tac
Third Eye Tactical.
And i've probably missed a few.
The highest quality and most rigid version is surely the Near MFG with it's intergal recoil lug, and it's got more options for tapers then the others.
The EGW version is also of good quality.
The rest i can't really say much about as i've never used them.
Tikka T3 stock /chassis options:
Manners composite stocks.
McMillan.
Bell & Carlson
GRS rifle stocks (imported to the US by Kelby, also available from Tikkashooters.com)
PSE composite stocks.
KRG whiskey 3 chassis (SA only).
XLR industries chassis (SA only).
Roedale RCS chassis (uses AICS skins, LA and SA version).
Roedale Raptor chassis.
Elieso chassis.
MDT LSS chassis (not yet released)
Third eye tactical chassis (SA only).
Most of the chassis options are only available in Short action configuration using AICS mags.
I know the Roedale versions runs LA mags but with they're own/Voere mags only.
So running a Long action caliber, a CDI DBM with a McM or Manners is usually the best option.
Any Premium barrels can be bought and fitted by any competent gunsmith, as usual you get what you pay for.
Although the TIkka/Sako barrels are normally very accurate for being a factory gun.
Brakes, supressors etc can be fitted like any other rifle so the choices are really overwhelming.
not gonna touch this subject.
All in all i would not say that Tikka aftermarket products are lacking very much, but surely more options will become available by time.
And there's probably a lot more products available for the Tikka T3 that i have not mentioned, most of this i took by memory and digging up other options can usually be done with a Google search and i'm not gonna spend a lot of my own time doing so.
