Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

mailing in targets (a.k.a. raffle tickets) to new address
blew the 3rd shot on the group but otherwise did decent on the rimfire---cmp came through for me

Centerfire is a joke....it went poorly

I hope the move goes well.

thanks for keeping this going even when you're in the midst of your own stuff

Based on the STS webiste, it looks like .10 for centerfire and .10 for rimfire as well. Why? What did you shoot?

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

You know trying to hit that 40/50 S.O.B. at the bottom in a snow storm is a bitch. On the other hand I did have that range all to myself.

These are only a legitimate target if all shots are fired with at least 6 inches of snow on the ground and more falling, right

sending 3 targets in the morning. 2 of the center fire are pretty close. Did well enough to not embarass myself but that's about it.

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

Jeezzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!!!!! The Snow and ice made it SOOO EZ. We got pelted with snow, rain, and then hale. But the good news is the wind was at a minimum

IcyShooting.jpg

Had quite a time Just trying to hang targets, LOL they were so wet that they would just stick to the backing

Well got them Shot and in the mail in the morning 2/22/10

0.05" if my calipers are right. Wasn't my best RF score this time (with the blown CS again), but the group was so nice I just had to send it in so it could be recorded.

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

I probably just mailed off the worst CF target in history
eek.gif
. I hit the border of the 5 pt circle and missed everything else low and left. Do we get points for spelling our name right
smirk.gif
? When the shooting was done, my Harris was up to the second leg notches in mud. Luckily the rimfire distance had firmer ground.

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

Much better weather than the fall match. At least this time the targets didn't need to be dried on the dash of the truck before going in the envelope.

Targets inbound.

When a guy with your shooting abilities cheats just to beat me, that would indeed be a compliment. What did your group look like this round? A paltry .23" again
smile.gif

Lady luck gives you a great group, then screws you on the CS. All to remind you that with RF, you're still her b**ch. Unless you can find the perfect lot of ammo.

nope, you're only going to tie for the worst. you'll have to try harder if you want to claim a record around here

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

lol. we must have the same karma. my best scoring RF target this time out was 235, hit every shot even the CS. then i pull the target and look at the group, 2 shots 0.12" 3rd shot makes it .65". SOB!

and don't even get me started on this F'er.
p1000456a.jpg

maybe we should start a STS near miss thread. we'll call it "if only god had given me that hundredth of an inch"

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

Yep, JR, that looks like a new record...WOW.

Way to brave the snowflakes fellas...

Re: SMACK the SMILEY Snowflake Match - ENTRY OPEN!

Well, we got our targets all wrapped up on Sunday... barely!! They were postmarked yesterday afternoon... just did sneak it in!!

JB, check out my boy Zack's 3-shot group on the Rimfire... something around 1/2" I believe. He literally WHOOPED me with the .22lr!! Vince is finally learning the Savage 10FPLE he bought from me. He shot a nice lottery ticket for sure. I wish that thing was still mine... but at least he lets me shoot it still!! LOL!!

Thanks again for doing this for us... we have a blast... and all your hard work is greatly appreciated!!

DK

P.S. - my wife says we don't need to shoot in the snow anymore!! LOL!!
