I've done a search and keep coming up goose eggs. I'm requesting real-world Velocity data from 18" .308 barrels. Please state barrel twist, load data, and chronographed velocity. Thanks!

    11 Twist TRG22, 45gr Varget with 175gr SMK are going 2615 with a SD of 1FPS.

Same gun, 155 Scenars, 46.4gr Varget will go 2700 but the SDs open up to 9FPS.

    True 18" gun, not 18.5"

    Thanks for the reply.

Those numbers look pretty darn good. All my searching seems I get hypothetical numbers or just what Fed Match does.

Anybody else with an 18" want to chime in?

Good idea for a thread. I like the idea of real world data. Especially if people list their rifle and load specs. This will also give an idea of what's a working combination and what isn't.

    I hope more people post.

As for Tac Ops, I'm not sure that's 'real' world. Not many can afford those rifles. Plus, they are micro engineered to be 18" lasers.

2540 Average from a 17.5" Brux 4 groove. Shooting McCourt SMK's in Winchester brass seated at 2.8

Baccarat, what is yours seated at? Do you run the Type 2 mags that allow them to be seated at 2.9?

Re: Real world 18" chronograph data for .308 Win

    2.850.

What's the Type 2 mags? I just run the regular TRG mag that lets me seat it out to 3" if I like. But with a 308, I just don't need to.

Re: Real world 18" chronograph data for .308 Win

I was refering to the Alpha Type 2 mags. It's an AICS style mag without the block in the front that allows the rounds to be seated at 2.98
