have a 6.8spc LTR that I am thinking about doing a rebarrel to a .308 and wondering what I need to do in regards to the bolt? Anyone tried this yet? Or am I better off leaving it in the 6.8 for the value down the line since no more available? Thinking about putting it up for sale here or pulling the barrel, looking for change ideas or opinions.
Thanks
There would probably be some interest in the 6.8 rifle.
Hell, I think it is nearly the perfect LE precision round, especially out of a bolt gun.
It would be an absolutely perfect platform for a bolt action .224 valkyrie.
Honestly, buy the time you buy the barrel blank and have it chambered, your nearly into a new rifle.
opening up the bolt and installing an M16 extractor would be required, another expense.
Of course, no smith worth his salt is going to hang a new barrel without truing the action.
Now, you are well over the price of a new rifle, but you have a far better rifle.
Post it for sale, buy a Howa Bravo or Tikka CTR.
