So, college or Veteran?
Tell you what, shold be VERy ashamed of yourself for claiming to be a veteran. To discredit our armed forces like that, to think that you WISHED that you were part of, and CLAIMING to be part of, but are not, WOW!! What a choad you are. Yeah, I found your other threads/posts, and seems to be your thing, your fetish...pissing on people on the internet, acting like you are somebody you aren't. So, poor college kid/veteran/former MLB player/NFL star/Astronaut, what other forums ar eyou part of, and claim to be over there?
And to think, all you had to was keep your mouth shut (which I gave you the chance to, by not replying to your last post) and probaly would have been clear for yet some time. but, either way, wouldn't have gone on forever, you acting like you are somebody that you aren't, before someone found out the truth about you. My guess is this:
18-20 years old, still live at home with Mom and Dad, don't have a job, don't even own a gun (you wish that you did though, among other things) and your only outlet is to ACT (that is an important word, that you ACT, because you know that you AREN'T) tough, and fantasize about being something you CAN'T (your too scared to actually be part of the military, so you fantasize about it instead).
How's that? Pretty close aren't I? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good luck raising your kids (oh, Im sorry, you don't even have kids do you? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA)</div></div>

Apparently veterans aren't allowed to go to college. Did you guys know that?

Peepaw. His signature line includes this gem:

    <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">

It's just too bad his grandfather didn't teach him any common sense. Or how to spell for that matter.

What does "PM" stand for anyway?

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

He claims it was a dummy round used for training. While I was trained on the .50, I never used a dummy round so I have no way of knowing what it'd look like. We had gauges for setting headspace so I can't imagine (other than teaching someone how to load/unload the gun) why you'd need a dummy round. Perhaps they were more common as training tools in years past.

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

Gotcha, that would make sense. We had belts of dummy rounds for training new soldiers on weapons. As part of training / testing a belt of dummy rounds can be used to ensure the soldier knows how to load the weapons under stress without placing the rounds upside down and chamber a round for function and stoppage drills without using live ammo and being at the range.

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

You're surprised that people don't go on irrational rants?

Surely you can't think I'm particularly worried about a confused idiot who can't spell, can you?

I mean, since when are "veteran" and "college student" mutually exclusive? I mean, some dude in my English class is not only a vet (tanker), he got called out of school from the IRR and went and did a tour in Iraq right in the middle of college (as some kind of admin person, just because they needed a body). He's the same age as me, and has a year to go. Hell, damn near everyone who is unconventionally aged AND in college that I've met is a vet.

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

I think it is funny how people get so mad that they can't compose a reasonable sentence.

I also think it is kinda funny how people want to live off the exploits of what their family has done.

    I agree on both counts.

I also find it hilarious that he posts that crap on a website that is, at least 50% vets and active duty, including its founder.

I mean, I didn't go to war, but I've got plenty of my own stories. I'm not about to put my grandfather in my signature line, although one of them did serve in WW II.

    Hunph... (That's a small LOL).

Ever so glad this topic arose to add breadth and depth to the Snipers' Hide Experience, as it were.

I take no issue with any subject presented here but one. Veterans abound in our monuments to higher education, with government assistance and eager acceptance by college administrations.

They even have their own Fraternities.

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

Yes I sent the PM to zero, because he is insulting our TRUE veterans by going @ claiming to be on, when he is not.

I can spell, just can't type, point being???

Again, I looked at your other threads zero where you posted, and it seems to be one of your highlights in life...to piss on people over teh internet. Congrats, takes a real man to be able to do that, a real tough guy to talk big behind a computer.

I find it VERY odd that I have called you out, but yet you fail to answer the simple question:
WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU A VETERAN OF?

If in fact you are a "poor college kid", and a self claimed Veteran AND you have kids as well AND all you do is go @ talking smack on the 'net...I find it extremely hard to believe that you could be part of our military.

    So, my question STILL REMAINS:
What are YOU a Veteran of?

No need in telling us your next doo neighbors info or your best friend, what are YOU a Veteran of?

The .50 cal round is a factory-made inert round, hence the lack of a flash hole in the primer pocket and the drilled hole in the case.
    FA = Frankford Arsenal, Philadelphia

The case is steel-washed for visual recognition.

Frankford produced a huge number of these, most dated 1944, for training and more importantly inspection and maintenance of guns.
Most gunners would have kept one of these handy to check headspacing, etc.

No, not at all. Maybe that is why you would put it there. I put it there simply because I am proud of my Grandpa is all. That's it. If someone wants to interpet it for any reason other than that,so be it. They obviously don't know me. I could care less whose dad could beat up who, and who the self proclaimed tough guy is. Could care less about any of that. My Grandpa meant a great deal to me, and he recently passed away and in his honor, I have taken the liberty to write a book about my Grandpa and his life, which of course, includes his time during WWII. And "downzero" insult of my Grandpa is the reason why all of this to begin with.
I take things people say over these fourms' with a grain of salt, but when someone wants to attack my family, for NO APPARENT reason other then to be an asshole, I take exception to. Sure, should have let it go, but then I found out that he is insulting our TRUE veterans (like my Grandpa, WWII Veteran, my Uncle Mike Vietnam Veteran, Uncle Steve, Vietnam Veteran), by claiming to be one, when he is not, I felt that was enough.

Did much get accomplished by me going after him? Nah. IN the long run, all it does is feed what he likes to do...get people stirred up. So, he wins this one by accomplishing his goal, and is clearly what he wanted to do...HENCE THIS THREAD, and his PM telling me that he started it.

Re: Recieved this in my PM box

    Coupla points.

Though I've done it myself, I still think it's kinda crass to put PM's on display as forum posts. I hope I've learned better. Private means Private.

While it irks me as well to see signs of folks pimping their own stolen valor, I've more recently concluded that calling them on it may be permitting them some kind of backhanded reward ala trolls. In any case, I am resigned to the sample fact that very little I can do on the Internet will have any reasonable impact upon the phenomenon. Some things I've learned to leave to God to resolve. He does the better job; all things considered.

As far as folks making personal claims on the Internet, I've learned it's not wise (for me) to call them out.

Blood pressure..., heart condition..., etc.; why give fools the satisfaction of knowing I risk my very existence on their behalf.

Better yet, just f*ck 'em. Let God sort 'em out.
