Little bit of a rant:

I am in a hotel room with little to do except watch tv. On comes red jacket. They equip local law enforcement with a m240b and a mark 19 grenade launcher. Really? WTF goes through their heads? Who is attacking them? Is a full auto gernades launcher really necessary to stop some moonshiners or alligator rapers? This guy pisses me off. This guys antics are gonna make gun ownership for my kids and grand kids so difficult. Very pro second amendment. I don't think pistol permits should be necessary. Felons should not be allowed but other than that, strap up. This guy really pushes me the other direction. In the last two days I have thought this twice. After seeing this show and shank's tacticool videos from YouTube. Dammit

I liked that show the first couple episodes but now I can't stand it. Tv sucks nowadays especially with all of the retarded reality shows. It seems like they come out with another reality tv show every week and most of the time it's a ripoff of a show that's already been around for a while.

It'd take me days to write everything that is retarded about that show. Everything they do is either pointless or just simply copying something already built years ago, and touting it as "No one has ever done this before".

Anytime someone asks me "Did you watch 'Sons of Guns' last night?", I just ask them to stop talking or change the subject.

You have to remember Red jacket is in Louisiana and Louisiana has some extra gun controls that I'm not totally versed in, outside knowing that they have an extra step in NFA transfers not common in other states.

My only time there was near the state police headquarters in Baton Rouge. Very ghetto area, totally ransacked- it looks like a third world country. It isn't obvious looking in from the outside that those laws are helping anyone or making Louisiana a better place.

Guys,

I think he is anchor to the 2nd amendment and give law enforcement military weapons is a disaster waiting to happen. That was my point. Thanks have a great day.

Am I wrong in thinking that the back of the boat is not the best place to mount weapons, seeing as you approach the threat with the front?

I have mixed feelings about the show and yes some stuff they do might give gun owners a bad name like shooting and blowing up cars every show like a bunch of juveniles. But they also do some really good things on the show like bringing old war vets on there when they fire a certain old war weapon I don’t think anyone can argue that is neat to see. You are also forgetting that law enforcement and the Military can have whatever weapon they want so if they want a tank, a full auto whatever and a grenade/tear gas launcher they can have one and I don’t think that is hurting the 2nd Amendment.

Well I guess the fundemental question is: Why does military and LE get any weapon type but you can not. A grenade launcher has no place in law enforcement. I am in law enforcement and never once said, if we only had a mark 19. Warrants delivered via grenade.

As far as public perception, it will be much easier for non gun owners to get on board with restrictions when gun owners are represented like this.

Ps I appreciate what he does for vets. Certainly not all bad.

They can get any weapon type because we don’t live in a free country and we as the people allowed bills like the Brady Bill, Home Security Act and others to pass. We tolerate states banning a certain type of firearms which is a clear violation of the 2nd amendment as nation law over rules state law but we tolerate it. We also allow Liberal media to sway the un educated to their way of thinking and how they would like the country run. If I remember from the show the grenade launcher doubled as a tear gas weapon as well. But if you look back at the bank robbery when the criminals had automatic weapons and body armor tell me a grenade launcher would not have been a nice tool to have if you were one of those poor bastards polices officers pinned down behind the squad car. You also need to remember that LE down along that area and Texas have to deal with Drug Cartels that use Military weapons. The show might bring in some new gun owners to since people like to follow fads these days. On a good note the Firearm sales across the country were really high on black Friday.

I understand why LE can have autos. I spent all day shooting them IN SEMI because full auto typically is just wasteful and dangerous albeit fun. Dangerous as in collateral damage. You can't account for every bullet at 600 rounds per minute or better. In my state I can not privately ow full autos but I can use them. My stance is why can't the guys who are barbers or farmers but some cop in Louisiana needs a grenade launcher. It's great until the owers that be decide to take your guns. I know I would just level your house with mk19. why go in you have guns. If you honestly think that a self loading grenade launcher is a Leo necessity, I have yet to find it.


For the bank of america robbery shot placement and weapon choice would have saved the day. A 92fs vs body armor, winner body armor. Semi auto m16 with barebones optics vs body armor m16 wins.

You beat me to it. I don't know how much a grenade launcher costs, but I'm sure it's a hell of a lot more than an entry level AR. But who cares, we'll just cut teachers salaries some more!

I also agree with you on the accountability which gets overlooked alot and cannot be stressed enough. I truly feel there is no reason for police to have full auto weapons. Every single round leaving the barrel of a LEO's weapon should find it's DESIRED mark.

I am not a LEO, so if you have an example as to when a cop (NOT a military situation) would benefit from full auto, then I will admit defeat. There is no threat that can't be neutralized with two well aimed, semi-auto fired rounds to center mass . ...maybe one more to the head for good measure

I agree with full auto rifle with magazine. Recently a cop in upstate ny was pinned down with dire from suspect. Surpressive fire gave time to withdraw to safety. Belt fed machine guns have no place. My argument is pro joe civilian. I think joe schmuckatelli should be able to buy whatever at a reasonable price. If joe S. can't buy it, what is the need for Leo? I can almost see the point with border issues but the military or fed should handle that craziness not some poor cop.

I emailed suns of gun to do a job on my mosin , after a month no respeonse , then about three months later i get , we are so busy with our own products we are no longer doing personal jobs. After they pride in their motto if you can dream it you can build , just a bunch of BULL****

If you want to tell will he's an idiot just go to gunco.net and post in the RJ forum. I watched RJ for 5 minutes and then never watched it since, the same goes for asshole guns. They love him and tell them he is an asset to the gun world.

Im glad Red Jacket picked up this gig. When i was looking at Krink and Saiga 12 conversions, i went Tromix.

Red jacket looked like shitty work, and their show pretty much nailed the hell out of that coffin.

I especially love the gatling gun they tried to make. They ran their HAAS like absolute dipshits. "here, lemme just finagle this doo-hickey and see what it does"

That Gatling gun was a total joke. They did not even try. I can hear Bevis and Butthead now. Ah lets bolt three together. Yea Yea!! Fire! Fire!

That Thompson was cool. Let’s make this thing fire so fast that you can not get one or two rds if you wanted to. You will want pump out 6 to 8 with a trigger tap. Game changer.
