Looking through a PVS14, would having a red reticle/dot like an Eotech be ideal or would the reticle being blue offer any advantage/disadvantage if everything else remained the same?

NVGs are least sensitive to blue light, which is why blue is the color of choice for in-vehicle lighting these days, rather than red. You're far less likely to burn a tube with blue lights.

That being said, I've never seen an EoTech with a blue reticle, and any advanced NV capable Eotech I've ever seen uses red and has low-power settings (invisible to the naked eye) specifically for use with NVGs.

I'd stick with red if I were you, just be sure to get a "NV" model. Camille at Mod Armory can help you out.

I have an EOTech on my M4, was trying to figure out which way to go with the USO 1-8 reddot as they offer a blue option. Wanted to see if the settings could be made low enough on the optic in conjunction with a blue dot to use them on 1x at night.

Hey ya M, guess you could have called us too! LoL....The answer is yes and yes. We have USO not too far from us and had one of the boys over at the office several months ago were we REALLY liked the blue option reticle especially looking through a clip-on and stand alone as well. VERY relaxing on your eye sockets while viewing these blue reticles. Something very special to behold with variable blue reticle brightness they had incorporated into their scopes.

Just think...The latest marketing ploy, Blue Phosphor NV the new magic goggles of all time. See's for miles and miles....
